I managed to pick up some bargains in Debenhams.
I got:
a Rotary watch, reduced from £100 to £30.
a D&G watch reduced from £150 to £45
a Guess watch reduced from £65 to £19.50

Remember though, Debenhams returns policy for goods that have been reduced 50% or more is that they'll only exchange them.
They used to offer a full refund then changed policy over a year ago to give either a credit or exchange, but they have recently changed their policy again.0 -

I only noticed this by accident on the back of the receipt for stuff I bought on Sunday. I never saw it displayed in the store, nor did a sales assistant point it out at the time of purchase. I bought a huge bundle of kids clothes at 70% off to take home and try on (on them, not me!) and am pretty disgusted to find out I can't return them. :mad:If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0 -
Can they do that? I was under the impression that the Sales of Goods Act prevented that.0

Shops don't have to refund you at all on things you've changed your mind about, only if they are faulty. I think ...0

Yes they can. If there's nothing wrong with them, i.e. faulty, then they don't have to refund any money at all.Do not speak- unless it improves on silence.0

I know that shops are absolutely under no obligation to refund you just for changing your mind. However, as most retailers these days are willing to do it, it has (for me anyway) become an expectation, especially from a big company like Debenhams. It is entirely my own fault for being so presumptious! It would have been appropriate I think if the sales assistant had pointed out (to everyone buying Blue Cross stock) that the goods could not be returned for a cash refund and then we could have made a decision whether to proceed with our transactions. I can still take what didn't fit back but only for an exchange or credit which is fair enough, I'm just annoyed that I didn't know about about it beforehand. If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0
