Fos Time Scales
Options
Hi guys,
If you, like me, are growing increasingly impatient with the fight over PPI, I thought this would be a good way of shedding a little light on the darkness/blackhole that is the FOS waiting list.
It would be great, if anyone who goes to the FOS, can keep this post updated with how long it takes, to give those still waiting an idea.
Guess I should start this off so here goes....
Complaint registered for mis sale of PPI agaist LTSB on Jan 5
Letter dated FEB 21st saying It should be allocated within 4 weeks
( thats about 12 weeks in total )
Would be great if you could all help with this thread by sharing your experiences as the FOS refuse to say if it will be days or centuries!!
Thanks in advance
L xx

After 2-3 weeks of contacting the FSO, I have been told that the company I have a complaint with were not members of GISC (General Standards Council) and so they cannot help any further.
The complaint is against Dial-4-a-loan who have never replied to either letters or phone calls...what can I do next?? My PPI is £4650??0 -
I sent off my complaint against First Plus yesterday - 28th February. I'll update when I hear back from the Ombudsman.0

19th Feb sent compaint to FOS (and sent form to HBOS as courtesy (ta Tiggrae!))
25th Feb received reply with reference number and "We are currently receiving very high volumes of enquiries and we will provide you with a full response as soon as we can."
Will keep you posted.Debt in June-03 - £24,000
Debt in June-06 - £8,500 (all on 0% cards)
Debt in Jan-08 - £4,000 (all on 0% card)
Savings greater than debt!
Officially debt free!!! :j0 -
Hi I sent all my forms and paperwork to the FSO, regarding a loan I have with HSBC, on the 16th Feb. I have received a letter from them on the 22nd Feb bascially saying that all paperwork has been received safely and they will contact me in due course. No time scale has been offered, is this the same in all cases or has anyone been provided with a estimate of how long it would take?
Any insight into this greatly appreciated. Thread for FSO cases is a great idea, as I couldn't find much info on cases that had been referred, and its good too know if everyone is being dealt with the same.0 -

We initially wrote to the FOS at the beginning of June 2007 and our case was allocated to an adjudicator at the beginning of September. At the end of November we had a letter saying that although the adjudicator upheld our complaint, Picture refused to accept this and wanted our case to be referred to the actual ombudsman for review.
We received another letter a couple of weeks ago apologising for the delay saying that our case has yet to be allocated due to the high volume of complaints and that a 3-4 month wait is likely.
I will update when we hear anything new.0 -
I wrote to FO at the end of September 2007, my case has only just been allocated to a member of Staff 3 weeks ago, and I have heard nothing more. My case is with First Plus.Claimed back almost £4000 so far from HSBC for mis-sold PPI
£2083.00 + £242.00 8% interest from FirstPlus and lower monthly premiums:D Studio Cards paid off my account and gave me £125.00 in gift vouchers. £500.00 Barclays.0 -
I sent forms to FOS in July, was not allocated until about three weeks ago!!!!! nothing since!!!!!!!!!
not impressed with them at all. they refuse to tell you what they have said to the bank and dont chase them up when they receive no response!!!!!!0 -
29th Feb, 2008: Sent all details to the FOS.
7th Mar, 2008: Reply with reference number and "We are currently receiving very high volumes of enquiries and we will provide you with a full response as soon as we can."
26th Mar,2008: "...I am now passing this complaint to our casework support team to await allocation to one of our adjudicators." - Guess this is the usual reply.
I'll update when I get any more feedback.

Hopefully lots of good people will fill this in and give everyone an idea of how long what is taking...
I spoke with the FOS team and my complaint ( sent first week of jan ) was passed to the jurisdiction team last week so should know if they are taking in the case by friday
