Question about Tesco Clubcard Deals Vouchers for MFI

I am buying a new kitchen from MFI. Since MFI give Tesco Clubcard points on purchases I will make use of that. However, I am more interested in the use of Clubcard Deals MFI vouchers which I understand are issued as 4x the value of your Clubcard points. So if I send in £50 of Clubcard vouchers with the appropriate form to Tesco Clubcard, I should get £200 of MFI vouchers back from them.
Here is my question:
Clubcard points are linked to an individual's own card and cannot be used by anyone else. However, I gather from other threads about people reselling them on ebay, that once converted to deals vouchers, they are no longer linked to the original clubcard holder. Is this definitely true? The reason I ask is that my mother has loads of Clubcard vouchers that she doesn't need. The same applies to a friend who no longer shops at Tesco. They are willing to convert their leftover Clubcard vouchers to MFI vouchers for me to put towards my kitchen if I would then be able to use them.
If anyone knows the answer to the above, I'd be grateful.
Thanks.

you can use these deal vouchers but only once they have been converted by the owner of the clubcard vouchers.
FYI:
We are doing the same at the moment. We contacted MFI and asked if we could use these vouchers against sale items. This is allowed and there is also no limit to the amount of vouchers you can use.A banker is someone who lends you an umbrella when the sun is shining, and who asks for it back when it start to rain.0 -
Hi,
I have been using my parents clubcard vouchers since they were first introduced. I convert them into holiday vouchers.
Fill out a clubcard offers form for yourself with the details of your own vouchers, then do the same with your parents vouchers. Enclose a letter from your parents saying they agree to you having the vouchers and give your address as a 'care of' address ie. if you are Mrs Smith and your mother is Mrs Jones, ask for the vouchers to be sent to Mrs Jones c/o Mrs Smith with your address.
I have never had any problems with this.
Always take the voucher numbers down and send via special delivery.
Hope this helps.0 -
We have already bought from MFI with deal vouchers. We bought £120 of kitchen chairs which were in the 'sale' with just £30 of points :j . We're now saving up our points for a new sofa, which we should have enough by next month.
When you order your deal vouchers order them in a variety of values because YOU WILL NOT GET CHANGE. I seem to remember we had to pay cash for the delivery charge - but don't quote me on that.
Now I've used Deals I wouldn't go back to spending my points in Tesco stores.Nuts just take up space where chocolate ought to be.0 -

Windym, does this mean that the MFI vouchers themselves have a name and address on them or were you just suggesting the c/o so that all the vouchers go straight to the required address without having to be forwarded?0 -

It does say on the vouchers that they are non-transferrable BUT ebayers sell their vouchers on ebay. I have actually sent an application off for my vouchers to be converted to Deals and also enclosed a clubcard voucher in my mothers name. I received my deals vouchers with no problems at all.
There are a few rules with regard to MFI deals tokens though.
Clubcard vouchers are valid for two years but once they are converted to deals they are only valid for 6 months.
If you look on the Tesco website, all the deals have different codes. Some start with S, some start with P . The P ones are when you fully pay for something and are then only valid for that one deal eg.,RAC breakdown cover.
The S ones, even if you apply for MFI and then change your mind, you can then use the deal token anywhere else that is also an S code because it doesnt actually say MFI on the token when you get it.
The other big thing to remember to anyone who is saving for something big in MFI is that they can and will only accept a maximum of 15 tokens in one transaction. I ordered MFI ones and it did say this in the small print.
The tokens come in £5, £10, £40, £60 or £100. Obviously, if you've got 15 tokens at £10 each, this wont go far if you're buying a kitchen!
you need to wait and then apply for them all at the same time.
Members of my family aren't interested in the deals but do shop in Tesco so I buy their vouchers off them at their face value! That way, they're not losing out by giving them away and I'm gaining because they are worth 4 times as much!
The only other thing that might happen is this....I bought a bed from MFI totally with clubcard deals tokens. ( £320 deals tokens after sending in £80 clubcard vouchers). I'll cut a long story short but the bed had to be returned because it was a lot wider than their advertised width. The refund, couldnt come back to me because I had paid with clubcard tokens!!! I phoned tesco and they said that the points go back onto the clubcard account. I was lucky, my £80 of vouchers were all mine but if they were made up of friends and family they would get the points back and not me! I have got a lot of vouchers here that I have bought from friends/family and also ebay. I am going to buy a 3 piece suite so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I wont have to send it back!
Hope this has helped someone!!!
Best wishes,

hello callansdad!
i received MFI vouchers in the post. they do not have anyones name on or even clubcard number but, when i received them, it did say on the back that there is a limit of 15 tokens per transaction.
Have a look at my last post a few minutes ago.

Think very carefully before buying anything from MFI!!!
3 Months ago we brought a fitted wardrobe from them with our clubcard vouchers and we still have half a wardrobe up. They keep sending faulty doors which are very poor quality. We send them back, they send back another one with a big scratch in! Very big circle! We are still missing 1 door and have a 3 week waiting time for it!
Their customer service is terrible!
I know its a bargain with the clubcard vouchers but I wish i had never had gone there!
But good luck with your purchases!0 -
Do MFI enforce this 15 voucher limit on Deals vouchers?
I'm asking because that effectively means the most you can actually save is £1500 which is only £375 of Tesco vouchers and I've got nearly 5 times that amount.
For something like a new kitchen I wonder if they'd split the sale into multiple transactions so I can use additional deals vouchers.0 -

Has the workmanship gone down hill do you think?
We bought a kitchen 17 years ago, and about 8 years ago we moved the whole room around, but the units still look fine, although perhaps a little old fashioned now. I was thinking of saving my vouchers for the next years or so, to buy new units. Would it be possible to buy the units in 2 transactions?:j0
