Help! Need to find cheap hotel near the Gay Village for Sat 26/07/08 for two of us. If I don't get anything now I'll struggle because of the LBB final night show.
Anywhere around Portland St is also fine. Need it as cheap as possible and a check-out of 12 would be good
Thank you to anyone who can help. Have normally stayed at Britannia Hotel on cheap student discount deals however they have stopped doing them and it's now costing a fortune!!!!!!!!!

You could try here - I havent been inside for quite a long time and I can't vouch for its quality or anything I'm afraid - but it close, gay friendly and it certainly used to be cheap.

To be honest, I wouldn't have thought that you specifically needed to be too close to the Village - as long as you get a city centre hotel no where would be too far to walk.
I am trying to find a cheap London hotel for the same weekend...0 -
There are a number of Travelodge's, Travel Inn's and Ibis' near the Gay Village now, all worth a try. Also try the Days Inn as this is v near the village and is generally quite cheap. I think the name of the hotel is called 'Manchester Convention Centre' or something as its used to be the University's own hotel for conferences before it became a Days Inn.0

also worth a look if you dont get lucky with the travelodge, travel inn etc

Not sure how cheap you can get it, but the newly-opened City Inn is a stumble from the Village (you can see Canal St from some of the rooms!) and a stumble from the station, and is actually a very good hotel too (the iMac in the bedroom is a nice bonus!)
