Does anyone know the best company for card loss protection?
I have details of my credit cards and other documents registered with CCP (Card Protection Plan), but they phoned today and tried to get me to switch from paying with a store card to a direct debit payment, saying it was for 'security reasons', and that a direct debit payment with a bank was more secure.
I asked what the security problem was, and if they would accept payment on a bank credit card instead. He asked his supervisor and he said they would. The man even said that it would be easy for him to switch the payment method to my bank account as he had all my bank and credit card details already. I did not get any real explanation of what the security problem was.
I think it may have been a way of trying to get me to renewal the policy, without a proper request for renewal, as my renewal date for this policy is in August.
Because of this, I am thinking of cancelling it and finding a better value company, if there is one, that doesn't use these methods.
The only companies I know of at the moment are CCP and Sentinel.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Thanks for your help Grumbler.
Sorry, I didn't find these threads when I searched before.
I did do an internet search and someone using Ciao (ciao.co.uk) was not very happy with CCP because of how they do their renewals.
I will look at Sentinel and Halifax Card Care to see what they offer.
Thanks again.
