Shame you're in the big smoke, I'm a senior developer but value quality of life so am now based in Devon doing pretty much the role described above.0

Hi MSE Natasha,
Just a note that I'd be careful about stating the numbers of years experience needed.
I read somewhere not too long ago that its no longer appropriate for job listing to have this kind of requirement (something to do with age descrimination).
HTH
Cheers

Oh dam it. I'm a experienced PHP5 OOP developer in Northampton, possibly looking for work. But I'm not wanting to travel to London everyday. Plus I'm probably a bit out of your price range lol.
Why is it that most companies still feel the need to have their developers sit at their computer in an office and be distracted rather than work at home without distraction. I can understand going to an office for meetings but other than that it's just a waste.0 -
Ditto to all the above. Working from home, in Nottingham doing all the above. No distractions except my music...oh and the b****y dog!0
-
Ditto again
I've been working in this field since 1996, and since then just 1 of the jobs required me to go into the office, but even then I only had to go in twice a week, the rest of the week was working from home.0 -
I'd imagine theregularly interact with the other members of the team, providing technical assistance whenever required.
In addition to this, day to day IT support will be an integral part of the role
bits mentioned in the initial post probably account for at least some of the requirement to be in the office
Whilst not impossible to diagnose problems and offer support remotely, I've always found it easier to do when sat at the machine in question - especially for hardware & wetware problems0 -
As someone that has worked this very job before, I would not hesitate to recommend applying for this position if you can do it - was an awesome fun atmosphere with great people... Good luck0

It sounds good till the commute is mentioned - it costs and arm and leg to commute these days.An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T
:rotfl: :rotfl:
:eek::mad: :beer:
I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0
