Talking Turkey Competition

Five 'Turkey Recipes by Celebrities' Books to be won
Turkey is something that you roast and only eat at Christmas, right? Well the answer is actually no.
Turkey is available all year round in a range of cuts including crowns, breast fillets, strips and mince. Not only is turkey a tasty alternative to chicken and other meat but it is also a very healthy, versatile and nutritious food.
Turkey is naturally very low in fat, high in protein and provides many of the minerals and vitamins necessary to keep your body in peak condition.
Everyone has roasted a whole bird in the past but probably one of the biggest problems for most people is how to take a different cut of turkey and use it in a recipe.
Well now help is at hand. British Turkey, the organisation that represents British Turkey Producers, has just produced ‘The Little Book of Great British Turkey Recipes’. It contains 21 original recipes from celebrity chefs, sporting heroes and members of the public who are great home cooks.

The recipes range from Gaby Logan’s new take on Lasagne to rugby hero, Martin Johnson’s favourite chilli burger.
In fact almost every type of cooking style is represented from sports commentator Matt Dawson’s creamy Turkey Korma through Frankie Dettori’s winning Rolled Turkey to sports pundit John Inverdale’s Chinese influenced Rainbow Stir Fry.
The book has a foreward and a couple of recipes by celebrity chef Phil Vickery who has been a passionate promoter of British Turkey for years.
The Little Book of Great British Turkey recipes is available from British Turkey, http://www.britishturkey.co.uk/ for £4.99 plus postage and packing.
All the celebrities who contributed recipes to the book are patrons of the charity SPARKS. This charity funds medical research into all conditions and disabilities affecting children with the aim of ensuring that all babies are born healthy and stay healthy. British Turkey is donating a percentage of the price of every book sold to the SPARKS charity, for which it has already raised more than £30,000. The charity web site is http://www.sparks.org.uk/

Many shoppers now want to buy food that has been humanely produced, is safe and has travelled the minimum number of food miles. So when you are buying turkey, look out for this new British Turkey logo. This will guarantee that you are buying a turkey that has been ethically reared in the UK and has only travelled a short distance from farm to plate.
AMG members have the opportunity to win one of five copies of ‘The Little Book of Great British Turkey Recipes’. To enter the competition answer the following question in the box at the bottom of this page.
Which Celebrity contributed the Rolled Turkey recipe to the recipe book?
a: Gaby Logan
b: Frankie Dettori
c: John Inverdale

The prizes will be awarded to the first five correct answers drawn at random. Entries must be received no later than 29th February 2008
