Got some petrol at 99.9p/l yesterday, and pumps clicking off straight away?
Got some petrol from Asda Wallmart Supercentre Pudsey (Leeds) for 99.9p/l :money: Maybe this means a price drop across the country is about to happen?
Unfortunately I got a pump that kept clicking off as soon as I started filling, and had to use the holding it gently and letting petrol trickle in approach. Also tried altering the position of the gun. Is there likely to be something wrong with my car's filler nozzle or am I just unlucky enough to come across faulty pumps that click off straight away? It has happened to me on 3 or 4 separate pumps at different stations in the past and seriously annoys me.

Possibly frothing, try pulling the nozzle out a bit, without spilling.0

Tesco in the south east dropped from 104.9 to 101.9 last week, so the price has dropped slightly.
However, I've heard that if we all buy fuel at 2pm on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from only one of those really old petrol stations where the man comes out to the car with a bumbag and fills it up for you, the price of petrol will tumble

Hopefully a price drop is happening, oil $$ is on the way down.
BTW what was fuel prices in the last week or 2 in your area anewman?
I think it is the pumps oversensitive, try turning the pump handle/nozzle assemmbly
upside down, it works for me on some cars.0 -
ASDA, Cribbs Causeway, Bristol: down from 101.9p to 100.9p (99.9p to 98.9p with their credit card). The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

newman - I'm also local to that Asda and they have just had new pumps installed. If the pumps worked before complain to Asda.0

It's possible that there's an air/petrol bubble in the overflow pipe (the smaller hole you can see here):Unfortunately I got a pump that kept clicking off as soon as I started filling, and had to use the holding it gently and letting petrol trickle in approach. If you pull the nozzle out, hold it so the open end is facing you and blow down (in the general direction of) the overflow, this sometimes helps (don't actually come into contact with the nozzle!)Conjugating the verb 'to be":

So you get 2p off per litre with the asda credit card? I only ask because I noticed that offer when they introduced asda credit cards a few months ago, but now if you look at the instore credit card promotional leaflets it doesn't mention the 2p off per litre anymore. Does this mean it is no longer available to new customers?0 -

Learned something new there, I'd also think then that a fast downwards swing of your arm would help expel any petrol from within the small tube.0 -

I had this problem when I first got the RX-8. The solution was to push the nozzle firmly up to the filler neck and then squeeze the trigger.0
