i have lost the code, and the dealer we got the car from hasn't got it either, they can get it for £15..

is there any way round this, or have i just got to bite the bullet,

When my dad lost the code for his car radio he wrote out every possible 4 digit combo of numbers and sat in the car, over a week putting them in until he hit jack pot. We were doing it while driving to places as well.
So I would say bite the bullet and save your self the hassle
I remember when this was just a little website! :money:

Good idea if you have plenty of time. However, a lot of radios have a security system whereby if you put the code in wrong so many times consecutively (usually 3 or 4) you get “locked out” from doing it again. This may mean you either have to wait fro 30 - 60 mins for it to reset itself or a trip to the dealer.

If you can enter say 4 combinations every 30 mins and there are 10000 four number combinations (0000 to 9999 inc) it could take you 1250 hours (or 52 days) from start to finish. I'd rather pay the £15! Although you could get lucky first time I suppose?

I have found LOADS of web-sites that can give me the code...................................IF.............i give them anywhere from £9 - £15................ and ,(this is the difficult bit), the serial number from the radio which is stamped on the side of the radio housing which you can't see, unless you remove the radio........

    AHHH...........

and to remove the radio you need (for my car) a special tool which costs £15 ...

between this and the HSBC losing £700 of my holiday spending money i feel like giving up the will to live.....

it can't get any worse .......can it?

Depends how expensive the radio is. But Ive done it before by putting it in the Freezer. Resets the memory.

It is a philips 400. apparently i need to poke some pointy objects down the four little holes in the front of the radio and it will simply slide out

Yeah, they are just a couple of metal alan key type things. They look like a wishbone from a chicken. I would wait for Browntoa to get back online and get back to you as they have codes for most radios and they should be able to help you out. I have a radio decoder on my computer but unfortunatly it does not do phillips or grundig for some reason.

    Hurrah.......ive got it out. :T

found some web-sites, and guess what, as the car is a 2000 model, so no-one can help, unless i send them the radio.......(i don't think so, would i ever see my radio again).

two steps forward and one back.
