In order to qualify for a 10-night fly-drive holiday for two persons comprising: scheduled flights with British Airways, Heathrow to Washington Dulles return, in World Traveller (Economy) class, inclusive of airport taxes and fuel surcharges; 3 nights accommodation at the Hilton Washington DC; 2 nights accommodation at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa & Marina; 2 nights accommodation at the Kingsmill Resort & Spa, Williamsburg; 1 night accommodation at The Jefferson Hotel, Richmond; 2 nights accommodation at the Keswick Hall, Charlottesville (all subject to availability); 10 days´ car rental provided by Hertz (either a Mustang convertible or Lincoln Navigator 4x4 or similar, subject to availability), inclusive of unlimited mileage, standard loss damage waiver (theft and collision combined) but excluding all excess and liability protection supplements in respect of personal property and accident cover (the “Prize”), all entrants must at the date of entry be eligible in accordance with these Terms and be resident in the UK. The driver of the hire car must be 25 years old or older. The eligibility of any entrant to the Competition is at the sole discretion of the Promoter. Employees, families or agents of the Promoter are not eligible to enter the Competition. Only one entry per person and per household is permitted. Entrants may not assign, transfer, charge or deal in any other manner with the rights (if any) attached to the Competition and or the Prize.

1. By entering the Competition, you hereby warrant that all information submitted by you is true, current and complete.
2. No purchase of any sort is necessary to enter the Competition. The Competition may be entered either online or by post by sending a postcard to the Promoter at Link House, 140, The Broadway, Tolworth, Surrey, KT6 7JE stating the Competition name ‘MyRoadTripUSA Competition’, your name, postal address, email address, date of birth and telephone number. One winner will be selected at random on 30 April 2008 and will be notified by email with 72 hours of the draw or by post within 5 working days of the draw. The winner will be asked to confirm their details including postal address before the Prize is dispatched.
3. The Prize must be used by 19 December 2008. Travel is not permitted over the peak periods of Easter, Christmas to New Year and the months of July and August. Both passengers must travel together throughout the duration of the trip and accommodation is based on one standard room to be occupied by the two passengers. Booking is subject to availability.
4. All entries must be complete and be submitted in accordance with the requirements set out in the Terms, and for the purposes of this clause 6 only, time shall be of the essence.
5. The decision of the Promoter as to who has been awarded the Prize is final and other than as set out in the Terms no correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter may at its sole discretion, substitute the Prize for a prize of a similar nature and/or comparable value. The winner may not request and is not entitled to a cash alternative to the Prize and the Prize is non-refundable and non-transferable.

1. The Promoter accepts no responsibility or liability for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, alteration of, or unauthorized access to entries, or entries lost, incomplete or delayed whether or not arising during operation or transmission as a result of server failures, virus, bugs or other causes outside its control. All lost, damaged or incomplete entries will be deemed invalid. Proof of entry shall not be proof of delivery or receipt. Only entries received in accordance with the Terms will be acceptable. The Promoter will not be liable if a Prize cannot be taken by a winner for any reason beyond the control of the Promoter, including but not limited to acts, events, omissions, or accidents, strikes, lock-outs, or other industrial disputes, failure of transport or network, act of God, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, rule, regulation, or direction, accident or break down of plant or machinery, fire, flood, storm or default of suppliers or subcontractors. Return of the Prize notification as undeliverable or failure by the winner to respond to a Prize notification within 60 days of the draw will result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected at the Promoter's discretion. In the event that a winner declines the Prize or fails to reply to the Prize notification in accordance with the Terms then the Promoter may elect, at its own discretion, to select an alternate winner.
2. The winner may be required to participate in publicity surrounding this promotion and consents to his/her name, address and photographs being published and agree to take part in further promotional activity .
3. The terms and conditions of any third party supplier may apply and must be accepted and complied with by the winner. Except as provided in these Terms the winner acknowledges that the Prize will not comprise any further or additional components including but not limited to insurance or spending money for the Prize. The winner acknowledges and agrees to arrange appropriate travel and medical insurance cover in respect of the Prize and acknowledges that the Promoter will not accept any liability arising from the winner failing to take out appropriate insurance and protections.
4. Any personal data relating to entrants will be used in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and you acknowledge and agree that personal data will be processed by and on behalf of the Promoter in connection with the Competition and the Prize.
5. By entering the Competition, all entrants are deemed to accept the Terms and the terms and conditions of third party suppliers. The Promoter may, at its sole discretion, change the dates of entry into the Competition and/or the dates on which the Competition will be promoted and or the date of the Prize draw and the Promoter reserves the right to alter, amend or withdraw the Terms and/or terminate the Competition without prior notice. Any changes to the Terms will be posted on the following website https://www.MyRoadTripUSA.co.uk and will be deemed to be accepted by you 24 hours after being posting on the aforesaid website.
6. Other than for death or personal injury arising from negligence of the Promoter, so far as is permitted by law, the Promoter hereby excludes all liability for any loss, damage, cost, expense and or other claim for compensation whether direct or indirect, howsoever caused in connection with the Competition or any aspect of the Prize or the information supplied by you which is incomplete, inaccurate, illegible, in the wrong format, or arising from late receipt of entry, or non-receipt of the entry.
7. If any provision of the Terms is held by any court or other competent authority to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part, the validity of the other provisions of the Terms and the remainder of the provision in question shall not be affected.
8. The Terms constitute the entire agreement. With the exception of the terms and conditions of third party suppliers of the Prize, which the winner is deemed to have accepted, all other terms, express or implied by statute or otherwise, are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. The Terms are governed by and construed and performed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, whose courts shall be the courts of exclusive jurisdiction.

Onward to Richmond, you may follow the I-64 highway or the more atmospheric historic Route 5 past the James River Plantations. Richmond, the Capital of the Confederacy, is a superb place to visit. In 1737 William Byrd II named the city Richmond because the bend in the James River is similar to that of the Thames in Richmond, England. The Shockoe Slip and Shockoe Bottom districts near the restored waterfront boast great shops and restaurants. And don’t miss the Faberge collection at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Here you will stay at the five-star Jefferson Hotel, a national historic landmark whose grand staircase, locals like to brag, served as the model for the one featured in the epic movie Gone With the Wind.

At Charlottesville you will wish to visit Monticello, the home of third US president Thomas Jefferson, which sits atop a mountain in bucolic Albemarle County. Jefferson, a self-taught architect, designed the home over a 40 year period, along with the nearby University of Virginia. Both sites are now on the World Heritage list. Here, at the foot of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, just outside Charlottesville, you will stay at Keswick Hall, a member of Orient-Express Hotels, which is an intimate, luxury property of grand style.
