8oz oats
6oz sugar
6oz butter or marg
Pinch salt
1 dessertspoon maple syrup
1 grated eating apple including skin
Mix oats, sugar, salt and grated apple. Melt butter and maple syrup (I do this in a cup in the microwave in 10 second bursts). Mix everything together. Press into a greased tin (you could also spread the mix as dollops on a baking tray and turn them into cookies); cook at 180C for 20-25 minutes or until it starts to brown nicely. If necessary, mark into slices when you take it out of the oven, and cut when cool.
Next time I'll use 2 apples and do them as cookies on a baking sheet as they were a bit difficult to get out of the sandwich tins.

These sound yummy. I'm going to give them a go. Probably a good way to use up apples which are going a bit wrinkly!0

They do sound nice. Thanks for that.0

I'm supposed to be doing ironing but I went and made these instead!
I didn't use apples though I used chopped up dates and sultanas. Mmm, yummy. I put them in muffin tins and cooked for 10-15 minutes. Saved time with portioning and I can now just pop them into DD's lunchbox for school.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
My son is on a special diet to help with his Dyspraxia so I made this with natural cane sugar and i bunged some raisins in.
He is very limited to what he can and can't have but I figured he deserved a treat and they were very easy to make!
If he like them we can make them together next time,
Thanks for this recipe!0 -
I made these today but added some raisin's and a couple of teaspoons if mixed spice. They are very nice.
My question is how long will they keep for ?0 -
We kept them for about 10 minutes before they were devoured
In households not inhabited by locusts  they'll probably keep for at least a week in an airtight tin. They'll freeze well, too.
