Spending money advice

Me and my OH are going to Cyprus, Pathos, in June for 2 weeks and we have heard it is expensive and need to know how much spending money to take. We are going self catering so we will need 2 meals, lunch and dinner a day as he does not eat breakfast so I take cereal bars. We also like to go on the excursions the reps offer. Probably not them all but we do like to do a lot as apposed to just lying by the pool or on the beach.
I usually like to take £1000 per work so am thinking £2000 for both of us as I can always bring some back and not have to worry about limiting myself while we are out there as I don't take any cards. As I have heard that it is expensive I was wondering whether that will be enough?

i have been self catering to paphos 3 times and have taken 350 for a week and managed just fine (may have gone up now they have introduced the euro) i think 2000 for the 2 of you if you gonna go on excursions.
i would advise that if you like waterparks the one in limassol is much better than the one in paphos, you can also get the trips much cheaper if you go with the locals rather than with the holiday reps who can charge a hell of a lot more (i loved the troodos mountains)The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about - Oscar Wilde:beer:

Why don't you plan to take cards with you? You get a far better exchange rate than using change bureaus in the UK, don't have to worry about losing it all if you're mugged, and can take money out as you need it rather than having to guesstimate before you leave home.0

Hi thanks for that I love the waterparks so will have to check that one out. :T
Also, the reason I don't take my card is as I cannot trust myself to go over the top so I do like to takeaway temptation. I have no will power or self control!!!LBM 14/12/06 £21,947.17 DEBT FREE 12/04/09

i always take most of my money in travellers cheques aswell with enough cash for the first day until you find the best place to exchange them. Aside from the fact they are insured if they are lost/stolen ive always got better exchange rates for doing it there than you get over here.
as for the waterpark the limassol one is bout an hour away from paphos so you can usually find a coah trip doing it, its quite a nice drive and the driver usually stops at aphrodites rock (where she apparently came form) for photosThe only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about - Oscar Wilde:beer:

We always take roughly half the amount in cash and half in travellers cheques for that very reason. Also, we get the safety deposit box so we can lock all the valuables away.
My friend who has been to Cyprus, a different part than we are going to, says that it is expensive but £2000 should be enough.LBM 14/12/06 £21,947.17 DEBT FREE 12/04/09
