12" Notebook for £350

I've been after a 12" notebook for ages.
Far from biggest is best and lumping around a 17" laptop, a wee dinky 12" notebook is ideal for anyone who really does want to be portable..
I reccomend these size notebooks to anybody who travels a lot. Buy 2 laptop bags (one smaller than the other of course and give the notebook two layers of protection)
Not a powerful pc by any means, but at £350 spend another £50 on XP and take the Vista thing off.

Depending on why you want a small laptop, the 7" Asus EEE PC could fit the bill for some people too at <£250

It might be small but it's not light weight at 1.83kg. Size isn't the only thing when it comes to portability ;)

This is really portable at only 0.92kg and I'm pretty keen to get my hands on one. The only problem is that no one seems to have them in stock.

I think they're about 2.5Kg actually, but let's be careful to not destroy the purpose of this thread. I don't think you'll find a Macbook for that money.

Thread is about a cheap and relatively portable laptop.

If you're considering portability you've got to take into account battery life too. Most cheap laptops I've seen have awful battery lifes.

You may be better getting a second hand Thinkpad from ebay if you want something portable, cheap, indestructable with a good battery life.

Definitely the best answer if just web browsing.

Knowing PC World / Advent this laptop will have a very poor battery in it resulting in laughable battery life.

IMO the point of a 12" notebook is to be able to use it on battery and I doubt you'll get much more than an hour and a half out of this one.

I bought a used Dell Latitude D420 from ebay for £400 - less than a year old, warranty from Dell for another 2, cost £1000 new and the battery lasts 4+ hours. :)
