Can I upgrade my moped headlight?
Options
My Honda Camino moped has a really dopey front headlight. I think it is working as it should but on unlit country roads, it gives dangerously little light ahead of you.
It is 6v with an 18w bulb. Anyway I can get a brighter bulb or do something to beef it up?
Thanks.

www.beedspeed.com , do a search for 6v which will bring up some bulbs. Or a local motor factor/bike shop may stock some
See if there's any there with the same fitment that are higher wattage
If you do fit a higher wattage bulb watch as it will be hotter, and could melt the headlight housing/lens.
If you can't find a brighter bulb, you could fit a secondary headlight/foglight
That site lists 6v bulbs with h3/h4 fitment so just find an auxilliry lights that takes them
Oh and you may wanna get a few spare bulbs, including brake/indicator0 -
Not knowing anything about mopeds but if you put a higher wattage bulb in wouldn't that blind other drivers!0

cars have 55 watt ...so dont worry about blinding people
a motorbike shop should be able to advise...maybe higher wattage halogen if the wiring can cope, or a alternative /extra lamp0 -
Are halogen bulbs any brighter than non-halogen?
I have found a 6v halogen bulb but it is 15w rather than the current 18w which is non-halogen.
Thanks.0 -
yeah halogens tend to make a whiter light rather than yellow...not sure how much differance the 3 watts would make
