hello hello!
i would like to build the cheapest possible gaming pc without comprimising on functionality. basicly ive just invested in a 26inch hd tv so want a gaming pc plugged into it on the side. itll be a cool new addition to my bedroom as ive decided to finally do it up!
i have a budget of around 200 - this is for hardware only!! is this POSSIBLE?

Amazingly, yes. Remember that the actual resolution of the HDTV is quite low (probably 1366x768) But you must be willing to overclock components to get decent speed. Though, with current Intel processors and their overclocking headroom, this isn't a problem.
All prices from eBuyer, inc. VAT. Delivery over £50 is free.
Get the:
e2180 £50 ish from eBuyer
GEIL This-week-only Ultra DDR2 800 kit - £30 from Overclockers
Gigabyte DS3 £40 eBuyer/Overclockers/Micro-direct
Hard Drive £40 eBuyer (recommend Seagate) though you can recycle these (i.e. use current ones -- the same goes for DVD drives, which retail for ~£15)
Spend the rest on a case/PSU of your choice and as much as you're willing to spend on a graphics card.

I'm going to say no, for a decent gaming PC it just isn't going to be possible with £200 budget. Previous post has missed most of the components like PSU and Graphics-these two in my opinion are the most important parts of a gaming system. Plus the cost of case, DVD drive etc. Not doable, save up then ask again.Out of my mind. Back in 5 minutes.0

A decent graphics card for gaming will probably take away almost half your budget.. You might get away with a £50 one but that would be pushing it a bit0

no way at all.0

a decent gfx card for gaming will take his whole budget, so no - but it does depend on what you mean by 'decent gaming pc' and what games you intend to play. Tbh you'll be better off buying an xbox 3600
