Hi
I am compiling a list of household chores that we don't do on a daily or Weekly Basis .. such as Cleaning the Gutters...
I had this agreement with DH that if he does all these tasks, I will do the daily chores on my own
Till now I have got
1. Clean Windows from Outside - Once in Two Months
2. Lawn Mowing - Fortnightly in Summers/ Spring
3. Pressure Wash Patio - Once in 3 Months
4. Duvet Washing - Once in 3 Months(Waiting in Launderette)
5. Cleaning the Gutters - Every 6 Months
6. Car Washing and Vacuum - Fortnightly/ Monthly
And now I can't think of anymore...and Need you help
Please add yours..

7. Putting rubbish / recycling out ?
8. Washing outside dustbins ?
will probably think of more, need to keep em busy0 -
Oooh loving this thread already, might get my OH to do stuff like this since he never does much lol!
How about cleaning the inside windows? Cleaning curtains if that involves a trip to the launderette too (mine don't as they're small enough to fit in the washing machine)
Tidying out garage/garden shed if you have one.
Any Painting/decorating that needs doing (not sure how you'd determine when/what rooms needed doing though)
Cant think of anymore at the moment but will have a think and may come backSometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -
9. Checking/clearing the external drains/putting bleach down if appropriate
10. Painting exterior woodwork (every 2-3 years? some 4-5 years)
11. Clearing leaves/rubbish blown around entrance doors, even if the garden can be left (as appropriate during autumn/winter)
12. Oiling window catches/door locks/gate hinges/hinges etc (1x a year)0 -
Thought of another one, cleaning the sofa if thats applicable (mines leather and I hate doing it)Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0

Splendid idea to ask everyone, MoneyQueen! You'll have a task list as long as your arm in no time. What about de-frosting and re-inventorizing the freezer once a year? Can be useful if you have a big freezer. I also have a special 'cobweb session' every 3 months, where the hunt is on for those cobwebs you don't spot in routine cleaning."Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0

Question. If I said something like:- "Servicing only when & where you require it". .... would I be banned, or worse?
If so, I didn't say a word ...... (no suitable emoticon as response unknown).
We have a simple rule:-
If I cook, he washes up.
If he cooks, he washes up.0 -
Thanks everybody..
and keep them coming..
DH was perfectly hapy with this arrangement...
Want to see his face when he gets the complete list0 -
this certainly reminds me of what I was told years ago re the division of labour in the domestic sphere...
SHE gets everything that can't wait and has to be done NOW
HE gets everything that can wait and can always be done LATER....!0 -
