Hi folks

Tomorrow we're planning to launch the new cashback checker. It'd help if you'd play with it and test it; we're developing it at speed as I want it out asap with Christmas coming. This is still only an alpha version so there's a lot more needs doing.

Your help needed with the following, to help us get it right.
  • What do you think?
  • Any improvements?
  • Did it break?
  • Any glitches?
What we know we need to do

1. The layout: this isn't finished its roughly right but the results layout especially needs some work.

2. Proofing - ignore spelling errors its been done by the techies; they're good a coding not grammer (ssssh)

3. Errors - if you put in a word that doesn't exist you get a blank page.

Inclusion: We're launching with the ones that are there just to get it going; we hope to add more

Order: I decided to have Topcashback and Quidco at the top as they usually win. The difficulty of comparing like for like means you needa benchmark, so we may as well start with the likely winners.

Try it here: Find the best paying cashback site

All feedback, suggestions, bug reports more than welcome.

Works well for me in Opera, which is rare!

Very fast interface, very responsive and quick to find search terms.

The box shoing the search results is tiny though. As it's the focus of the site it should be much bigger.

    On the results page:
My fist reaction is that it should be relatively easy to put a link to the cashback page. So if i'm already registered for Quidco, I can click and get the referral page for that site.

Can you highlight the highest paying box in a different colour, to save reviewing all the boxes?

I can't seem to get the clever find-as-you-type box to work after i've chosen a retailer.

There are quite a few duplicate results... type in "La Senza" and you get "la Senza" or "la senza lingerie"... not sure if your website crawler is clever enough to find these!

I'll echo the sentiments of afro having played with your new tool (ooh err missus - don't tell Mrs Lewis to be!).

    Great time saving principle.
One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.

Can this site save me any more money?? I have never known someone with such a crusade to save people money. Well Done and keep up the extremley hard work you do,

    It is very much appreciated.:j

Had a look round the new site, seem to be a few errors but i am sure this will be sorted soon. Can you imagine, a site like this will have the cash back sites quivering!!!

We have all heard of supermarket price wars, could this be the revolution and cause a cash back site commision war? Only time will tell.

    Error i got was

Doing a search for car insurance after completing the screen scrapers and getting the cheapest from Halifax. I searched for Halifax and nothing. Searched insu (insurance) and a number of them came up.

Scrolled down and found halifax, clicked and took me to blank page.

Being negative, the search didnt find halifax but it was there.

    Error for me also.

Sometimes holding ctrl down whilst clicking on refresh works.

    Hi,

I am loving this idea, because I often trawl through the main ones to see if they offer cashback.

The problem that I came across was when I typed in the catalogue/internet company "Vertbaudet" it came up with an error page:confused:

Didn't find any other glitches though.

    Well done. Great idea:j
