Gaps in Floorboards??

Hi
I am planning to remove the old carpet in my new house and sans the floorboards down - Probably using a HSS sander.
There are a few gaps in-between the floorboards which are otherwise in a good condition. We will stain and then varnish the boards when sanded.
Does anyone know how can i fill in these gaps before or after sanding??
Thanks
Mac

You can buy different coloured wood filler in places like b&qtravelover0

I have the same problem, someone on this forum posted about this product a while back - really sorry, I cannot find who as they deserve thanks, but I bookmarked the site they recommended, as when the other work we need to do on our house is finished, this might be useful - http://www.stopg-p.com/ it doesn't look too dear either.0

The old-fashioned (and v time-consuming) way used to be to cut fillets of old floorboards to fill the gaps! Hammer into place with a rubber mallet and sand down to match existing."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

Gaps between floorboards and stopg-p.com
And this is from the site FAQ:
Why can’t I just use wood filler?
You can, but manufacturers specifically exclude its use for floorboards.0 -
Oops sorry. We filled gaps a few years ago and I am sure it was something for floorboardstravelover0

How big are the gaps?
I did the floors in my mother's living room a couple of years ago. She had gaps in her's as well, but when sanded and varnished, it really looked the part. Nice 'old' feel to it. If the gaps aren't too big, you might consider keeping them.I haven't been asked to tell you that I'm the Board Drunk for this board. As the night wears on, my posts will become worse, with simple spelling mistakes, inane ramblings, and a blatant disregard for the truth. I have no authority to do anything, so there's no point asking or telling me. If you see me past midnight, please tell me to get my coat and order me a taxi.

I vaguely remember seeing one of those DIY programs using the dust from the sander mixed with wood glue to fill gaps. Can't remember if it was on floors or not. May only have been for small nail holes?0

we used a couple of rolls of stopg-p a few months back. Seems to work ok, i.e. the draughts have stopped, sometimes need to push it back into place as assume movement of floorboards occasionally moves the stuff in bigger gaps, also looks like we may need to hover along at some point as dust/dirt accumulates on the product over time. Happy otherwise0
