If you are running XP on the machine that you posted this message on, then you may be able to copy the ntdll.dll file on your XP machine to a disk and copy it to your brothers laptop0

the lappy I am on now has a cd drive but not one I can write to... not even a floppy drive.... can access a PC that has a floppy though...... but then how do I get that onto the one that doesn't work?Use your judgement, and above all, be honest with yourself.I walk with the world & the world walks with me!I don't make bad choices!!! can access a PC that has a floppy though
Copy the file of your XP machine to the cd
The file is in Windows\System32
Start the laptop in Safe Mode with command Prompt (Press F8 as the laptop boots)
At the command prompt type in the following:
cd d: (where d: is the drive letter of your cd drive of the laptop)
aand press enter
at the next command prompt type in the following:
copy ntdll.dll c:\Windows\System32
and press enter
when copied reboot your laptop0 -
ok let's start again..............
I have done something to two laptops:
1. mine.... an advent one with a rewriteable drive : won't boot up...keeps saying "STOP: c0000221 unknown HardError
\SystemRoot\System32\ntdll.dll
The other my brother's now keeps saying: "Windows could not start because of an error in the software.
Please report this problem as :
load needed DLLs for kernel.
Please contact your support person to report this problem."
I can't get any of them to start-up even in safe mode......
so even if I did copy the dll for one of them .....how do I then transfer onto the broken one?Use your judgement, and above all, be honest with yourself.I walk with the world & the world walks with me!I don't make bad choices!!! Other people just fail to see my GENIUS !!!!0 -
