Ryan air claim back

Right, here it goes. I have booked a flight ticket but do not have a EU passport, which means i have to go through airport check in.

So, that cost me 4 quid x 2 persons = 8 pounds. I would like to claim them back. What shall i do? Letter? Email? What documents do i need or what shall i do?

Thanks!

why are you trying to claim something back, that the Ts&Cs say needs to be paid..

thats like me saying, "i'm called mark, so i don't want to pay for this drink, but i'll pay for the meal.. "

i disagree with what you're trying to do
  • Superstar isn't holding an EU passport.

"Where a passenger is unable to avail of Online Check-in by reason only of not being the holder of either a valid passport or a National Identity Card, issued by the government of an EU/EEA country, any Airport Check-In fee paid will be refunded upon application."

This is under the 'Airport and Online check-In, Which passengers do not qualify use Online Check-In?'

    Very well spotted Chong !:money:

Now then, how does superstar make sure he breaks even?

Can he show a printout of this well spotted condition to checkin staff and expect to have the fee waived? Or can he go first to the Ryanair ticket desk at the airport and get a piece of paper that enables him to checkin free?

Or does does the unfortunate superstar have to suffer some other dastardly Ryanair Rigmarole designed to weaken his will to live before or after he flies  ?

Ring them on 0871 246 0000 (beware, premium rate no. - do it from work!) or 00353 1 249 7791 (international number, but might be cheaper if you do have to ring from home). And be prepared to keep on hold for 5-10mins before you'll finally get to speak to a customer services operator to get refund put back on your card. You'll need to have the flight reference number to hand.

I knew about this rule before booking, but i cant do anything cos i dont have a EU passport.

My flight is close to christmas, but if i can claim them back that would be great.

It seems like there will not be any refund at the check in desk, they need to be done to the main office etc!

This is what i hate! It cost me [SIZE=-1]₤4 per person in total both ways. Ideally i would like to get them back, but making a call would cost me a fortune if using premium rate and may as well dont bother.I will think of another way of using a different phone.

How about sending them a letter? Any good?

You should be able to call them on this number, 00353 1 249 7791 , as mentioned in post #7 for half a pence a minute. This number terminates in Dublin, Eire.

Cracking spot Chong. Flew 3 segments with Ryanair last month, had to pay for checkin due to holding a US passport, that's £12 they owe me!!
