Nationwide CC blocked

Tried to use Nationwide CC yesterday evening and it was declined. Phoned the help line who said there had been a security block put on the card but security had gone home so nothing could be done until today. Rang helpline again today and they had no record of any security block. Tried an online purchase while helpdesk were on the phone and it was declined. Helpdesk said "Hey there's a security block, but I can't put you through to security because they are busy". After 30 mins on hold waiting for security, the helpdesk offered to have security call me back but they said it might be a few days because security are very busy at the moment.
So no credit card for a while until 'security' can get back to me

It's always handy to have a second card.
Plus is you weren't abroad when this happened, it costs. And I'm not surprised they're busy. Their lost laptop could at this very moment be looking at 2 HMRC CD's.0 -

Long story - have ace credit record but am financially linked to credit disaster area so a lot of CC companies aren't interested. Not a huge problem - still have debit cards and cash (and cheques if I can find anywhere that still takes them).
Security did phone this afternoon to say yes my card was blocked forever and they will send out a new card with a new number. It will only take about 5 days.0
