Thomas Cook - Cash Passport

Looking to pick one of these up tomorrow and wondered if anyone had used them before and what your thoughts were. Currently offering $2 ro the £.

Looking at the documentation it says you can use it just like a debit card andany store/bank that show the VISA Electron sign

    GBP Card Commissions
Normal sterling travellers cheque commissions apply on purchase and reload of the GBP card. The commission payable both on purchase and re-load of the card is currently 2%. and its only for purchases not to get cash out./
    Seems a right rip off
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel

They have a new Credit card with the claim No foreign exchange fee on your purchases abroad.
Might need some scrutiny, considering their track record.

Don't waste anymore bandwidth on this question. If you happy limiting yourself to Visa Electron purchases you're question is answered.
  • We need more info not less and more discussion... has anyone got anything more they would like to add to help those of us that are trying to find out about these cards..?
  • No offense Donnie lol... ;)

Me and the missus got one last year. Initially i was a little sceptical however it was really handy. No standing at a reception filling in details on travellers cheques. We paid for pretty much everything we bought whilst away. Through the day we never used it we just took out some cash for snacks etc and used the card on bigger purchases, meals at night, perfume etc. Never had any issues with regards to using it anywhere.
