  • Hi - Did you spot this while at your Co-op store? Is the information on a Cuisine de France package? I can't find it mentioned on their website or anywhere else.
    Thanks

I'd like to find out bout this one as well. We have a small co-op nearby and would love to go for a short trip to France in the summer. Are there any restrictions on times etc....

Spoke to their helpline tonight. It's with Hoverspeed and she confirmed Dover to Calais was available. No restrictions, but the caveat is "subject to availability" so if your preferred times & dates aren't available, you have to accept their alternative or forget it.

Also, only certain Cuisine de France products are eligible, but it lists these on the small leaflet you get in store. Only appears to be an offer at larger Co-ops too.

Well if you sign up for I-points at https://www.ipoints.co.uk you should get enough for a ferry voucher for FREE!( no free car though - foot passenger only)
You can also choose to go to Ireland.

Yeah, but the point is that this offer INCLUDES a car! The "5 people for free" vouchers you see with "special prices" for cars are a rip-off if you want to take a car. They quoted me £120 for a "special price" for a crossing with P&O that was available on their site at that exact moment for £79!

HOVERSPEED SUSPENDS OPERATIONS AFTER MONDAY 7 NOVEMEBR

Anyone travelling with free Cuisine de France tickets or any other paid-for tickets will be contacted by Hoverspeed and offered alternative travel with another operator (e.g. SeaFrance).

Announced publicly on 4th November -- received new dates/time by post on 5th November. Excellent response by Hoverspeed, whatever some people may think of their service!

Hoverspeed / Seacat are not just suspending operations but are permanently closing down the route from Dover , sacking all the staff and disposing of the seacats.
