#1. The people that run these "sell your house and rent back" companies are generally lying thieves and are best avoided

#2. This time next year house prices in general will be lower than they are now

#3. Cheap houses are a good thing not a bad thing

... and coming originally from Chertsey, and being the age I am, I can remember when the entire Reach was under water - which is why most homes there were houseboats!!

Do you think Right Move have put 1 extra figure on the price of their British "shack"? :rotfl: :rotfl: Yep - I know, I bet that figure is for real and not a typo!

Who'd live in an overcrowded country? One literally pays the price for us not having enough space.

Outside: riverside garden mainly laid to lawn with 30ft river frontage and mooring.

I think this is the key. Presumably the 'toppy' valuation is on the basis that you knock it down and build a McMansion.

It's disgusting! Property values in this country will have long lasting damaging consequences if they do not come down.... the first rung out of reach of FTB's, the second and third rungs out of reach of second and third time buyers.... How can a young couple start a family if they cannot afford to upgrade? Where is the motivation for work when you have no access to the property market and end up paying overpriced rent?

It's either that or the value of the mooring. What price mooring in that location?
As for the US properties  Look at the taxes on the first one! $4000 per 6 months. You thought council tax was bad. The second one says "Possible lease/purchase with 5k down." in the details. This can be interpreted in several ways, a couple of which are "a dodgy deal to get anyone to buy it" or "I'll do any deal to sell it".

You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.
