Ideas for a Sleep Hamper?

Come on then you (incredibly inventive) lot :D I've thought of doing a sleep basket for my mum this year, as she suffers from insomnia on a regular basis.

The main requirement is that it really really needs to be not too big/heavy... all my pressies have to be carted by train 250 miles!!

So far...

A book of some form (amazon)
Guatamalan Worry Dolls (ebay)
Assorted hot drinks sachets, horlicks, hot choc etc.
Lavendar scented bath bits (bodycare, pound shops)

why not try some sleep spray- avon do it I think its their aromatherapy range or Radox bought some out as well. it's great stuff Avon has a range for what mood you are in but I can't recommend the sleep one enough. I never sleep when I go on holiday strange bed etc.. this stuff sent me out like a light.

    hi there

    What about
    • one of those eye mask things to keep the light out..
    • how about a nice relaxing CD..the one with sea, wave noises etc
    • a nice fleecy blanket - so if she does get up she has something nice n snuggly to keep her warm on the sofa
    • a hotwater bottle... don't know if you have seen them..but out here you can get those Gel hotwater bottles - but they are scented.. lavender..or neroli etc....
    • one of those neck pillows or a wheat pillow that you can heat up in the micro
    • a nice mug to go with her hot chocs etc...
Im just about to put some hampers together and its amazing the things i now spot when im out and about ...

Thats a lovely thought for your mum... these hampers are so personal aren't they.

What a lovely idea, I would love to receive this as I suffer from insomnia myself!

    How about:

A good book (Richard and Judy recommended are usually a safe bet)
Anything from the Boots 'sleep' range of lavendar toiletries
Black-out eye covers (the type you get on aeroplanes)
    Dream dictionary
    Pyjamas
    Soothing/meditation CD.

    Hope this helps!

Wilkinsons do their own Lavender natural essence foam bath called Sleep Tight - it is fab and is not to expensive (I swear by it as I use it quite a lot).

A glenn harrold complete relaxation cd? he talks you to sleep...sadly then wakes you up after 26minutes, but its much easier to drift off again. did me amazingly good on a 28hour flight to australia!!! i would have preferred it to be longer than 26minute stints tho!!!
