new york present

my sister is going to new york in march

and i wanted to do her a new york basket.

I've seen a picture of new york in home bargain for £3.99 so that is my starter.

then i thought of adding

a guide to new york
a bag of bagles (bought nearer to the time.)

has anyone any more ideas as to what i can add.

thanks

  • A good guide book as you have mentioned. A New York calendar could add to the excitement. A few dollars maybe. some American sweets like M&M's, hershey bars, hershey kisses, Reeses Pieces and the like. Some Coffee, disposable cups, milk and sugar (Apparently a regular cwwoffee is white with sugar).
  • I was going to do my oh a New York Hamper for Christmas.

I have saved up all my Tesco Vouchers woooohhooo :) Thank you Mr T and have enough to pay for a trip to New York (a pressie for me too lol) but sadly I havent saved enough for spending money :( So I'm going to leave it until next christmas. :)

    This is what I was going to put in it;

    New York Sauce
Hot dogs with flag on front of tin
    New York Bagels
    New York Guide Book
    Hershey bar,
    M & Ms
    Dollar bill
Big Red Apple (putting in nearer the time)
    Blueberry muffins
    New York Cap (off ebay)
I love New York fridge magnet (off ebay)

I'm sure shes going to love hers :)

If you go to http://www.nycvisit.com/content/index.cfm?pagePkey=11 (sorry can't get Instert Link to open) then you can request some free guidebooks - but they take a while to arrive - The Official NYC Guide is good and has discount coupons.

Maybe a cheap DVD of a film or series set in NYC, such as Breakfast at Tiffany's, Friends, When Harry met Sally,The Day After Tomorrow etc? When we've been to NY we've loved spotting locations from movies!

been looking for 1, there is 1 on e-bay but i'm not that keen on it.
  • what about a New York City Pass,
cant remember how much it costs as its been a coupla years since I went there (didnt much like iNY btw, apart from the touristy obvious),
but the pass gets you a tour of the city, the guggenheim museum ...moma, museum of modern art, etc. but it is really good value....mebbe you can buy online a NY underground pass, though mebbe a NY underground map would be a good idea.... we ended up in Queens the first time we used the uderground....too used to Glasgow's mini clocwork underground
