Hiya,
I was wondering if anyone could help me with a little inspiration. My other half has his birthday mid November swiftly followed by Christmas, and I am really struggling with thinking of something to get him this year for either. He is much better paid than I am and so tends to just buy something if he fancies it, and never ends up needing anything because he always buys it – for example Halo 3 was pre ordered so already on it’s way!
He’s a Liverpool fan, and likes to look after himself with posh smells and nice clothes – things I can’t really afford at the moment but he has quite a lot of already! He likes doing the Times cryptic crossword, so last year I got him a new set of dictionaries and thesaurus and a kite (big kid with outdoor things though he doesn’t go out on his bike as much as he used to any more). I like buying little prezzies that have had thought gone into them but I’m quite stuck this year! He’s quite classy, and heading towards 40…
Help! Any ideas gratefully received! I can be quite crafty and I have a geeky streak, so not averse to making things either!
Thank you!

Once again I am going to recommend champagne and harmonicas. I can't think of many situations in which these are inappropriate gifts.0

*grin* Do you think I would get moneysaving bonus points for wrapping up the bottle of champagne hiding in the cupboard we got for our engagement and giving it to him all over again?!!!0

hi
I think you shoud prepare the present yourself, I mean as he has everything, then the present should be something he can not buy
something really romantic - think also how to make a special day to dedicate to him, be original
i think he'll like something like that

A great idea is to make a really nice box and put IOU's in it. It could be anything from ordering pizza, doing something he dislikes to something a little more saucy ;-)

How about a ticket to tour Anfield. As a Liverpool fan he couldn't resist. Tickets are £10 for each adult so if you bought him one, depending on where you live he could book a hotel (he'll pay for that just to go on the tour) and you could go too to get a nice romantic night away as he'll be so happy after the tour! www.liverpoolfc.tv0

Is he a drinker? The best pressie I ever got my dad was a bottle of Famous Grouse personalised whisky (from their website). It says "The Famous Waxy Bean's Dad" on the label and a message from me on the back.
He's refilled it many times since, and much to my mum's disgust insists on displaying it with her ornaments in a glass cabinet.2009 winnings: private box at the ballet, a cooking lesson with Jean Christophe Novelli, a case of wine, £25 itunes downloads, a candle, Football Manager PC game, a lipstick, £2500 -
My hubby was working away last year over this 34th b'day so I had to think of interesting small things of low value- just in case the parcel went missing.
I made him a reasons why i love you box - a small box with a heart for each year with a personal note saying 'i love you because...... you make me laugh' etc. He loved it and its a great way to say somethings you never got round to.
His main pressie was a trip 'zorbing' (large ball, you inside pushed off large hill) I got a load of discounts and money off and it cost £22 instead of £50 odd. I got a classic photo of him in with a shocked expression, made a body and put it in one of the kid's ball pool balls. It took hours to figure out what the clue was for!LMB 01/03/08£9001.61 £10/6 6089.70 - 32%paid off!

Thank you for all the ideas! I love the idea of me in some ribbon, think he'd appreciate that!!! I like the idea of a little I love you box too - I know it's a bit soppy but with some IOU's in there too and some sweets and little bits I think he'd like it as much as a big expensive thing.
Will just have to get thinking of IOU's now! :rolleyes:0
