"Cruise in a box" hamper type ideas

Just reading on another website about hamper type boxes such as "Scotland in a Box" (shortbread, iron bru etc) abit like the hampers. I fancied doing my Mum a "Cruise in a box" type but don't want to spend masses of the present budget on it. She loves cruising but isn't going again until next summer - so this will have to tie her over. But not sure how?! Is it a rubbish idea?
EDIT: Been having a think last night and could actually incorporate the presents I've already bought into it and spend the rest of the budget on other things to fit in with the theme whilst buying practical presents which she adores.....
My ideas for it so far are:
RED = ALREADY BOUGHT
* At the airport - Umbrella (she always complains about getting wet at the airport as we have to walk on tarmac!!) £3
* All inclusive card - made by me + bottle of red wine £5
* Maid - Book of vouchers £0
* Afternoon Entertainment - Quiz question book £2
* Evening Entertainement - 60's deck party CD (made by me) £0
* Beauty Salon - Hair colour that she uses £5 (Boots pts), £5 voucher for hairdressers
* Onboard Pampering - Lavender toiletries gift set £5
* All inclusive meals - £5 off meal for 2 at Brewers Fayre (nectar points) / Cheese and Biscuit Set £5 + Placemats £12 +After dinner mints £2
* Broadway evening entertainment - Musical on DVD - any ideas which one? £5
*Captains Cocktail - Necklace and earrings set £3
* Photo Gallery - Photo of parents in photo frame £3
* Onboard Shops - Perfume Samples (can I get these from Boots for free??)
* Foreign Currency - 10 Euros £6
* Chilling out by the Pool - Magazine Subscription (3 issues for £1) + Biography to Read £10
* Waiters - Teatowels £3
* Bedtime onboard - Nighty £14
* SUNSHINE - St Tropez Tan £10 (on offer in Boots)
What I need from you guys are any other ideas on how to (cheaply) 'box' these ideas:
Really can't wait to do this - not often I think of an idea for my hard to buy for practical present loving Mum! I am going to wrap each gift up in the box and write some sort of poem type note to each one to tell the "story" of being on a cruise!!! Hope she likes it!

- Casino ?? Deck of cards
- All inclusive meals (I am definitely no cook and want to buy restaurant vouchers for this but will blow the budget so ideas gratefully received!) ???
- Broadway style evening entertainment? (Musicals etc)??
- Sunshine???? fake tan?
- Captains cocktail evening??
- Visiting a new place each day (thought of travel guide, but we visit 12 places in 14 days, so not really appropriate??) REALLY STUCK WITH THIS ONE!
- Photo gallery (there is an onboard photographer who takes a picture at any minute if you stand still for too long)
- Onboard shops - usually buy perfume, but will blow budget!

If you have a look at some of the cruise ship sites, there might be some ideas you could pick up there eg picture of cabin ie bedroom. The next cruise she's taking, could you print off the itinary and then write or print off from internet) a little description or photo of each place she'll visit.
Sunshine...fake tan or body shimmer
Capt Cocktail evening combine this with all inclusive dinner and make a it a 'dressy' occasion, or concentrate on the cocktail element and buy a martini or champagne glass
Photo gallery, a selection of snaps over the years or start taking some candid, surepticious pix of her around the house now ehg watching tv, cooking
Casino...monopoly money and a few counters or chips, Toy slot machine or one armed bandit, three oranges in a line in a box, DVD of Casino Royale, deck of cards0 -
For the 'all inclusive' element have you got Tesco vouchers you could change for deals which you can exchange for restaurant vouchers to give to your mum? Or what about the takeaway curries . chinese meals that you can buy in supermarkets.0

I've only got enough nectar pts for a £5 off a meal for 2 in a brewers fayre!! I sadly don't have any Tesco points (buut I will do next year, so much better than nectar!!)

How about buying one of those cheapish large photo albums with peel-back plastic, fill it with A4 pics of exotic locations she's either visited or would like to visit? A picture per page or something?
I'm sure you could find some nice pics on the internet and print them off (I use works printer for things like this - better quality ink and paper & :money::rotfl:)0 - Visiting a new place each day (thought of travel guide, but we visit 12 places in 14 days, so not really appropriate??) They do them here http://www.tartancrossparcels.org.uk, but they would be easy to do yourself, they say they've got Lees Fudge, Tablet and Macaroon Bars, Tunnocks caramel wafer and caramel Log, Barr's Irn Bru, McCowan's Highland toffee, a Tartan Scarf, a Scottish Fridge magnet, a Scottish Window sticker, a Scottish lapel badge, a Scottish map postcard and Scottish Shortbread in them.
Basically anything you would find in Scotland that is not easily found anywhere else. But no midges!DFW Nerd no 239.....Last Personal Debt paid off Nov 2012!
Donated 50 pints so far.... gold badge got 17/11/13! Blood Group O+
