Our bedroom has been built over our garage and is freezing in the winter. I would like to get the house walls filled with insulation. I think I may be able to get a grant towards the cost but dont know who to contact - any ideas?
You may need to know the house was built in the late 1960's

Contact your electricity or gas provider or look on their website. The energy companies have to spend so much each year on efficiency methods. Basically, they've done all they can and are now spending money subsidising cavity wall & loft insulation for customers.
So check your energy suppliers website first.

I had my insulation done by warmfront, both wall & loft for free because I was on tax credits at the time.
They were very helpful & efficent so may be worth a call

there is a grant- finder section here , from the energy saving trust
Use our grant finder tool
By taking 3 short steps you'll immediately receive a tailored list of grants.
You can search for grants by areas such as boilers or kitchen appliances, or select "all". You never know, while you're fitting new loft insulation, it may be worth finding out about some cheap energy efficient light bulbs, too!
The numbers of grants and offers will depend on your circumstances, whether you're a homeowner, over 60 and if you're currently claiming any benefits.
For many of the energy supplier offers listed you can request that they contact you directly with more information. To do this simply tick the blue box next the offer you are interested in, click 'GO’ and submit your details. This will notify the energy supplier of your request.
For further information on the other grants and offers listed in your search, you will need to call the telephone number provided."The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."

Just had ours done by Millfold and th house feels alot warmer. Retains the heat better when it is warm and also heats up wuicker when GCH heating is on.
MILLFOLD GROUP and we paid £125 for mid-terrace.**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0 -
We had ours done last year, I think the grant was via London Electricity and only cost £50 for the whole house.0
