Hi All!
I love all the hamper threads but am looking for some ideas for my wee bro (21) christmas present - he has a big poker table in his room at home and with friends has poker nights at weekends. I dont actually know a thing about poker so was looking for some help/inspiration for a poker night themed hamper so any ideas please shoot my way:o

You could always buy him some spare chips (as in gaming chips) I assume he would already have cards etc? put in some beer/wine, crisps, erm... this is a hard one!

You could add a copy of Ocean's Eleven on DVD or something like that:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0

Few sealed decks of cards (they love opening them and shuffling, men-strange), a nacho kit from tesco/asda etc, dorrito dips, cigars (if he smokes) mini martini etc.
Bow tie to 007 it up?
Think its best to pick a theme, American nacho poker or cassino royale?
Sounds like fun, I may do this for hubby....0 -
How about a bottle of Jack Daniels and some shot glasses?Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0

my husband loves all this stuff too, i bought him playing cards online from the belllagio (oceans 11 filmed there) and venetian in las vegas,(the cards are only used once or twice and its cute to think they could have won or lost someone millions, you can also buy used casino chips from the big casinos,0

Hi,
The Theory of Poker by David Slanksky is a great starting place for poker books, good for intermediate level players (which if he's playing weekly he probably is) but check he hasnt got it already as its a very popular first poker theory book. Some names to look out for are Slanksky, Malmuth, & Harrington and for Limit Hold'em players Lee Jones (ex-PokerStars room manager) has written a decent LHE book.
A decent set of chips will make him very popular with his mates, get real clay ones if possible - for a bit extra you can have your own design put on them too.
Pokershopping.com is worth a look - they have pretty much everything on there a poker player could possibly want and very good prices esp with the £ being strong against the $ at the minute (watch out for shipping costs though).
Top it off with a bottle of decent whisky and a few shot glasses and you'll have made him the perfect present0
