GOOD NEWS CHEAPER 0845/0870 Peak Rate Calls From BT Landlines.

I notice on the https://www.dialaround.co.uk site that you can now get cheaper (PEAK) rate calls to 0845/0870 numbers from a BT Landline,and probaly other call providers as well depending on what they charge you(If your on Cps you can always go back into BT by dialling 1280 anyway!!!)

How do you do it.For 0845 calls you call 0844 462 48 48 and your charged at 2p a min, instead of BT,s 3p.

For 0870 calls you call 0844 566 75 75 and you are charged at 5p a minute instead of BT,s 7.51p.

Dont forget BT do have a min charge of 5p but the chances are you will in be in a call centre q , and you will save money unless its a very short 0845 call.

As much as i hate dialling NGN,s, some times you have no choice.So i am all for using the cheapest way of doing so.

Incidentaly Dialaround appear to be part of the 18866/1899 family of companies.

PS.If your mobile network allows you to call 0844 numbers in your minutes bundle i believe O2 do, you can use it on your mobile to.

BTW if you have inclusive 02 or Tmobile cross network minutes you can use https://www.simply-fone.com for free 0845 and 0870 calls.

Thanks for that. For those using OneTel's CPS then they also charge the same as BT for these 0844 calls

0600-1800 weekdays, the above should read 3p/minute and 7.51p/minute respectively from a BT residential landline on BT Together Option 1 (99% of BT residential customers since 1/7/04).

0845 calls are cheaper on BT than via the 0844 number at other times (1p/minute 1800-0600 weekdays and at weekends).

0870 calls are cheaper on BT than via the 0844 number at other times (3.75p/minute 1800-0600 weekdays and 1.5p/minute at weekends).

Thanks for pointing that out,i think i was using another carriers rates.I have amended the posting.But never the less there are still good savings to be made for BT Customers,particularly on long calls ,and probaly more if you have Cps to another carrier.

However i think i made it clear enough in my original posting that i was only talking about PEAK RATE(6am to 6pm)which is when most NGN calls are made.and never suggested the 0844 service was cheaper offpeak or at weekends.
