I am looking at making a website for my company. I dont want to spend a lot. I could do it myself but it would take me ages as i have little free time. Has anybody used the website templates you can buy. Ive seen some pretty professional one for about $50.
Has anybody had any dealings with these templates?
Does anybody know of another way of creating a proffessional looking template on the cheap and quickly?
cheers

I would get hold of a copy of Macomedia Contribute. It was intended to be a graphical site editor for Dreamweaver so that once a website is created, non-techies could update the site. I use it all the time and create sites from the included templates. I think it cost about £60 when I bought it but it is well worth it.Comping 2008 wins £4842 2009 wins £950.50 2010 Wins £140 2011 £00

Phil's post reminded me of a site I had come across a while ago, ran a quick search on google and voilà, check out Open Source Web Design, they offer lots of templates for FREE. Not sure though if that's of any use for you, just thought it could save you the expense

There are numerous free website templates available on the Net. Just Google for "free website templates".

be careful with *free* templates - they are often created using unlicensed images which will make you liable for the copyright infingement (Youll get a nice letter through the post asking for £thousands) - And its all automatic. Google Picscout for some more info.No Links in Signatures by Site Rules - MSE Forum Team 20

I think the best bet is to get something open source... these designs have full code and you can customise it to what you like. A few good sites for open source web designs:
http://www.oswd.org/
http://www.opendesigns.org/
And best of all, they are 100% completely free and you won't have to worry about license infringement as many of the designs use stock images that are royalty free, and have an open license for use.
All the best!0 -
I'm sure there's an MS thing they do for free, isn't there - anyone know what I'm on about?0
