    The list seems rather excessive.

If you are going living in a student house, they tend to come furnished, so there is no point bringing all the pots and pans in the world!

If you are living in halls, most places will NOT want you bringing a mini fridge as these guzzle energy.

Buying things like stationery in advance weighs you down and takes up luggage space - fair dos, if you're getting a lift to uni, but if you're going by yourself, just buy some paper from the student union shop or your local WH Smiths when you get there.

If you're careful with how you dry your clothes, you have no need for an iron. You're a student - you're not mean to look pristine anyway. ;)

A USB pen is essential, definitely take one of those. And one of those block extension leads - I'm not quite sure what they're called, but the kind where you get a line of plug points, rather than the boxy ones. Especially if you're sharing a room - you'll get into arguments otherwise.

If you're living in halls with a shared bathroom, a little bag to stick all of your shampoo, soap/showergel etc in, would be quite handy. Otherwise it's a bit of a faff carrying it all from your room to the bathroom in the mornings. Remember, if you leave anything in a communal area, it WILL get nicked.

I think the trick is to NOT go crazy - I've seen people come to uni before, in a huge people carrier packed so full of bags there's no view from the rear window for the poor driver. That's just stupid. When you live at home for 18 odd years, you collect a lot of stuff. That doesn't mean you need to take it all with you - most of it is junk anyway.
