Car hire for young driver

Hi everyone
I need advice.....
My son and his girlfriend are coming home for a week and they plan to drive around and view the sights.
The problem is we CANT get him on OUR car insurance.
I have tried searching for car hire companies but the thing is our son is 27 and has only held the FULL license for TWO MONTHS..(late starter..smiles).
Many of these car hire companies are insisting the driver has at least 2 years FULL licence.
I had thought to hire out the car in our name but have since discovered to my horror that both my husband and I are driving around with EXPIRED driving licenses.....lol.....
Can anyone advise on this matter other than telling them to "take a bus".......smiles
Kind regards
Claire

Try www.dollar.co.uk (I think they also trade as Thrifty). They didn't used to have a minimum licence requirement for over 25's.When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0
