But suddenly thought it might be an idea to get your very valid opinions on whether or not it is a good deal.
Any comments gratefully received.
Thanks.

No, I have taken that down to the one year collect and return and the price is £351. Thought it looked quite a good spec for the money, plus you get 24 months free McAfee security protection.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
If you have reduced the price I would consider uprating the battery - Mcafee, well there are varying opinions on this product.
Apart from that it looks alright0 -

Why is there something wrong with McAfee? I have had it on my home computer for the past two years and it seems alright, but would like to know if there is something wrong with it please.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
Mcafee is fine, bit bloated nowadays, but the on access detection, which is the important bit, is fine. (Cue loads of people telling you to remove it and install AVG/NOD etc ).
The laptop is also good value, if you take off the extra warranty.
If you are intending putting loads of DVD videos on it, torrents etc, consider the 120GB upgrade, but 80GB is fine for most people.
The 6 cell battery last 2-3 hours, so if you are going to be using this at home near a power point mostly, then you might not need a higher capacity battery.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

Scroll down the page and see the dell one on "Hotdeals" they all seem to think that one is good .0 -
Just looked at this, but it has an AMD processor and I really want an Intel, so I think it is worth paying a bit extra. Also want XP and not Vista.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0

melbury i would add this battery on to your deal " 9 cell Lithium-Ion Battery (85 Whr) [add £23.50] " and have that nicer screen that they are talking about, and click on " 1 Year Base Warranty - Collect & Return [Included in Price] " and price comes down again. Not sure if dell have their "free postage on this, which will be good as thats £60 .
