Take advantage of Kwik Fit
There are many opinions of Kwik Fit on the threads, but I seem to have a good one locally and I've not suffered from the dreaded 'found another fault' disease. Used carefully, Kwik Fit can cut the cost of motoring in my experience.
1 - the Kwik Fit card. it has an horrendous rate of interest, but spend over £100 on it (easy - it's 1 tyre for me) and you get 120 days interest free. Make sure you pay it off in full over the time.
2 - Price match. They don't publicise it but they will price match. I usually use black circles or similar to get a price and take a print out to my local Kwik Fit. Example in the last two days - Pirelli P6000; Kwik Fit price £162, Black Circles £115. They matched the price and fitted same day.
3 - Cardholder offers. I have a sheet of reductions (valid to June 2008) because I am a cardholder; 20% off MOTs, servicing, Air-con recharge, Brakes and Exhausts.
4 - Petrol. Use the card to buy petrol and you get 1% back on your card account after you've spent £250 no matter how long it takes (sadly not long nowadays) - but remember to pay it off each month. Cashback covers spend at Morrisons, Sainsburys, Total and Jet. Not sure how this works if you've got a balance from the 120 days interest free, I've never done the two together.
Hope this helps.
