I have Musicmatch which came with my MP3 player, and I upgraded, which I used for handling the music files on my MP3, and also labelling and re-titling music files I have taken from my own vinyl/tape collection to hear on my pc and/or mp3.
They have just advised me they have sold out to Yahoo Music, which appears to me to be just a player/downloader which I don't wish to do. Not bothered about new music, have my old music over many years which I enjoy. Can you recommend anything which works like the Musicmatch where you could pull a group of files in, identify them with an Album Name, Artist, Genre, and add the Song title if you wish. It then would create a file name which including album, artist/s, track no/track name, so if I put them to my mp3 I knew what they were?
Many thanks
DG

Hello donny-gal, um, quite few questions there
I used to use MM. Gave it up ages ago
Now then, it seems there are a number of things you wish to do. Playing your mp3's is important to you. Also naming, or as I call it tagging, your mp3 files.
I use different programs for different jobs. Others will say you can get an allround program to do the lot. It's up to you.
For playing music, I like and use the following programs.
Freebie JetAudio Basic 7.0.3.3016

Freebie Billy 1.03

Freebie mCube Music Manager
http://m-cube.sourceforge.net/
Freebie 1by1 1.61
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/Audio-Players/1by1.shtml
Allocate yourself some space and time. You'll need that to get used to the new software..!! Nothing works quite like MM, they all have the good points and bad. Give 'em a try.0 -
I use musicmatch too. From what I can see, you should still be able to use it to play music just like you always did - just don't download any updates!0

Thanks guys, I had been thinking that too, as I dont use the so called "Super Tagging", I can still use it as a stand alone for manual tagging, which I find useful, but I will try the others too.Member #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Everyone you talk to has their own favourite tagging program.
For me it's Tag&Rename
Geddit here:

Do try it yourself. I use it every day
Have fun,
