Chicken advice please!

Looking at keeping chickens and have been reading all the threads on here. Have learnt a fair bit although any further newbie advice would be great.

What I'm wanting to ask is, can guinie pigs mix with chickens in the run? They would not be together when in their homes :D

Any advice would be great, thanks in advance!

    Hi Phil,

    I would advise you not to mix the chooks and gpigs as the chooks are likely to pick on them. If you decide to try it, make sure you give the gpigs some cover e.g. drainpipes to hide in. Ours are kept separate.

    Good luck with your chickens, they are great. We started off with three in an ark, now we have 13 in a shed with an electrified run around it.

    The best layers and most docile/friendly are the hybrids especially our Black Rock and our Bluebelle, our pekin bantams are really friendly but not such great layers, and our cream legbars are a little flighty but lay us lovely blue eggs.

    Beware of foxes! They are the biggest problem we have faced with ours, trying to dig into the old ark, luckily they haven't beaten us yet (touch wood!)
