Ideas please for homemade dog treats

Options
When training, my dog gets bored quickly with any of the shop bought treats I buy for him.

Does anyone have any ideas of what else I can use? He has a sensitive stomach so I have to be careful what I give him.

there are plenty of recipes for liver cake/biscuits online

our dog LOVES banana - although if OH gives him a full one he farts terribly  it's great for treats as you can either stuff a Kong with it or use little bits for rewards and cos it's quite a strong flavour a little can go a long way

we also use the break crusts dried out as 'dog toast'

he can have raw carrot 'bones' too - just a raw carrot that he chews up and eats

    the mouldy offcuts of cheese...

it depends a bit on your dog as to what they'll like and if it'll upset them but I find that giving 'real food' has less of an impact than a lot of the shop bought dog treats that are full of fat and god alone knows what else.

ETA if you can cope with the honk the *best* ever thing for our dog when training was dried tripe but it reeks to high heaven

Stuff a Kong and put a trace of butter around the rim-keeps em occupied for ages!!
I give mine tiny bits of cheese, banana, cooked pasta, cooked rice and chicken in theirs-not all together mind! (yuk)
I also give them a weekly treat of sardines and mackerel-which should be ok on the tum (get the ones in brine, not oil) and will make the coat shine beautifully!

I use small pieces (pea sized) of cooked chicken and the same sized pieces of cheese when training my pup. He will everything and anything for these treats but isn't interested in the shop bought rubbish.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. A big thanks to Kit for putting them on your website. I never expected so many.

I tried the liver treats and they go mad for them. Thanks to them, one of my dogs learnt to tidy up his toys yesterday. Now I just need to find something to encourage him to do the ironing...
