No it's not me, I'm not the winner of this one. I just thought it might be bit of fun, instructive fun, but fun non the less....
I've seen posts about how many nominated accounts can some high interest savings accounts have. This to feed even higher regular/monthly savings accounts...
I was struck by one post (won't give the name, if he doestn't mind, then I'll add it).
"I have 25 regular savers and I pay all of them "manually""
I saw it and thought yikes!!!!. Come on how many are people holding... Martin, want to give a box of chocs, or something to the winner?
Me? haha. I've got 3....! Lloyds 8% (1yr), YBS 7% and as of today the (far fewer strings, it would seem than the website indicates) HSBC 8%.
I know some of you out there are "mental"
So wat ya got, n how many?

Just 1 for me at the moment, but hoping to get another one soon and build a collection.Making my money go further with MSE :j
How much can I save in 2012 challenge
75/1200 :eek:0 -
im trying to reduce mine now that more and more societies are bringing out e-savers with comparable rates of interest to their regular savers so im down to 17 ( or 19 if all 3 loughborough reg savers are included) with a few more reg savers due to bow out shortly
if i had realised that their was some "claim to fame" by aquiring the most monthly savers id have carried on opening them :rotfl:0 -
Lol Brist... No claim to fame.... As I say, I just saw a post with
"I've got 25 all manually administered" and thought my god...... I'm still an novice at this!0 -

only a carpetbagger would have that many regular savers as theres not 25 regular savers paying sky high interest, the person concerned would be better off closing at least 15ish and putting the proceeds into a 1 year fixed rate bond
it struck me as postings bordering on weird because it was in the "savings forum" ( not "current account forum") the post thread subject was "sainsburys 6% account" which i believe is not a current account, and the poster kept on going on about what he does with his current accounts  after all we all are aware that standing orders through current accounts can be set up as 1 offs ( annually, monthly etc) and can be manually adjusted, this is not the same as in the words of "sainsburys bank" "Access your money at any time by":
"Transferring money to your nominated accounts" :cool:0 -
I've got 3 reg savers, YBS, Ipswich & Newcastle. All passbook based and all paid by standing order. :cool:0
-
ive got 290
-
I've got 18, with lowest rate being 6.5%0
-
I assume the reason people would have so many is for carpetbagging? Perhaps there is also the chance that the person with 25 RS accounts is saving the maximum £250 a month in each, giving £6250 savings a month:eek:In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0

must be first 16 of these with addition of nationwide and loughborough ( depending on how many loughborough accounts u have)

work of art opening accounts with the top 18 regular savers, should be remembered though their are 3 factors
rate someones getting from the "drip feed account"
rate of reg saver
rate that is going to be got on the funds that have to be invested elsewhere( re the reg savers that dont carry on after 12 months) once the 12 months are completed0 -
Ahh, yes I hadn't thought about the amount paid in, bit..... Yes I'm doing the max on each account each month.... Not 10+ accounts at ten/twenty quid each.....0
