I have recently taken over as treasurer for our sports and social account. We currently have some funds in a local building society account. However this is proving very inflexible from interest rate to withdrawals. On the up side we do not get charged for our services and as I understand the banks will. Any advice on the best accounts for such an account would be warmly welcomed.
P.S. I am new to this site but am finding it extremely useful.
Cheers!

A number of banks will have club, society or charity accounts etc but a lot these days pay little if any interest on balances held.
Depends I suppose on the amount of money held and which is more important to you and the members ie is it better for you to have interest on the money or flexibility to issue a cheque when needed.0
