    Hi ya,

I live in leeds and it really depends on what kind of pubs and clubs your after?

General pubs with offers include: Walkabout, Weatherspoons (but no music), Yates', Varsity, Risa, Tiger Tiger, Squares

If your after trendy type bars then theres some cool ones down Call lane and around the back of the Corn exchange including BRB, Dr Wu's, Mook (just off call lane), Oporto, Normans (if its still there).

If your wanting alternative music then: The dry dock, FAB cafe, Carpe Diem, Mixing Tin, Bourbon

Not too far from the train station close to the posh restaurants theres a nice cocktail bar called prohibition and if your there early on the friday (and im talkin around early tea time) they do 241 cocktails hiccupp!

Up the top end of town close to millennium sq you can find courtyard, the new revolution (nice cocktails) and a nice champagne bar (cant remember the name).

A small hangout which gets very busy is Mojo, they play fantastic music and has very cool decor but the prices are expensive and no beer on tap......but might be worth one drink :)

    As far as clubs go.......

The electric press revolution (which is the top one....there is also a revs on call lane) plays funky dancy music and gets quite busy but is usually free in or cheap in.

Theres Baja Beach Club, which is a little dated now but still cheezy as hell if thats what your into. Plays pop and dance, usually £5 in but can often pick up a flyer for a few quid off.

The newish club in Leeds is Oceana, this seems most popular nowadays, it had lots of dance floors and is on many levels. Upstairs plays 70s and 80s disco chooons and has like a chillout area with beds n sofs (not as scary as it sounds), down stairs is a mix of dance and rnb. Theres also other bars and areas with different music within the club (its big). Good club but expensive, prob £5/£6 on friday going up to £8 on saturday (after 11pm), if you ring or email them and say its your birthday they may put you on the guest list. They sometimes have limited drinks offers on but many end too early to be used :(http://www.oceanaclubs.com/pages/content.asp?PageID=382

NU bar (formally IF) located on the edge of 'the light' shopping centre, can be a bit hit and miss, often plays new funky dance tracks but is only good if very busy, we usually only go if we get flyers for free admission but have had some good nights in there.

Just outside of town (headingley way, N city centre) theres Halo, a converted church, plays dance n rnb, often frequented by students, can be cheaper than town centre, again a hit n miss club. But if you ring you can always get on the guest list or VIP which enables you to go upstairs where most of the errm Fit girls are (sorry)

HIFI club is a bar/club that plays alternative jazzy/bluesey/RnB music and is quite unique, reasonable price in but its small and can get crowded

Round the back of the corn exchange there are a few more clubs best to have a walk around and see whats busy / reasonable price to get in.

Theres loads more bars and clubs but that was just a few, websites about bars in leeds are pretty crud so if youv heard of anywhere and ive been il try help you out.

As for places to stay.....you may be able to get a cheap(er) travel lodge or hotel out of the city centre but central is costly. You could try a 'bid' here and see what they say http://www.roomauction.com/hotel_uk/babdb/riva_hotel_leeds/ you never know could get a bargain.... that hotel (never been in) is very very central.
You could also try a B&B in headingley (about 20 mins walk from city centre or £5 in taxi) there are lots around the cricket ground. http://www.iknow-yorkshire.co.uk/west_yorks/leeds/all_prices/all_types/bed_and_breakfast/

Hope some of this is helpful

    Cheers, have a good night.

Sounds like good advice from Matt, I live in Leeds myself and may try a few of the suggestions myself.

To stay there is the etap hotel within easy walking distance of the centre. Its £32 a night for up to 3 people and recently opened . Strangely it gets terrible reviews on trip advisor but considering price and location what do people want?

On the internet you can be anything you want. It`s strange so many people choose to be rude and stupid.

I live in leeds myself and wopuld echo the comments on the bars up near the corn exchange/call lane area- I particularly like mook, boutique, normans and Dr Wus

As for clubs depnds whether you want chessey or proper clubs as I call them!

Chessey has been pretty much covered by Oceana and Baja Beach

Proper clubs then I would say Back to Basics leads the way, but Hi Fi Club and the elbow rooms are good too

    Hope this helps
