Is it compulsory to leave feedback?

I sold an item two weeks ago. I posted it first class next day and have not had any communications from the buyer. I still have not been left feedback and was wondering if it is compulsory to leave feedback. I left them glowing feedback and as I have not heard anything from them I presume that all is okay with the item. I have had less than 10 ebay sales so I would really like to build up my feedback rating.

Thanks
SB

    No its not compulsory.

Big tip - never leave feedback before the purchaser.

It exposes you to a little bit of blackmail if the buyer isnt completely happy.

Thanks - would you try and ask the buyer or just leave it?
  • Its good practice. Why dont you contact them ask them if they received the item safely and if they would mind leaving feedback. One lady took a few weeks to leave feedback for me once, she was new to Ebay and didnt realise this was what was expected.

has pinkgem says but I think you have 60 days to leave it and sometimes if the buyer doesn't always have access to the pc or doesn't always have tim to leave it straight away. As a rule I always let the buyer leave feedback first to ensure that they are happy because I close the sale

Thanks - the buyer has feeback in the three hundreds so I'm sure they know the score!

wouldn't bother asking them to leave you feedback it can be seen has pressurising and some sellers then will not leave you feedback iykwim

I will risk a feedback reminder for a low feedback buyer, it does sometimes work in chivviying them along, I dont bother with buyers with over 10, they usually know the score. I think that the wording is very important though, I will ask them to confirm receipt by either letting me know and/or leaving f/b.
