Not sure if this is the best board - feel free to move it if it's not.

But basically I'm looking to move to Dubai for a few years and am pretty sorted on the job front, i.e. in where to look etc, mind any extra advice is appreciated.

Has anyone got any helpful links? Have had a look at some expat forums but seem relatively quiet, anyone suggest any?

Or any sites to look at for renting/buying homes? Renting/buying a car?

Maybe any other websites or books anyone can recommend too would be appreciated, seraching on google seems to throw up a lot of pap!

Try the papers for property rental however if you are lucky your company will either provide one for you or will find one.

What is it you are planning to do in Dubai? have you sorted your Visa?

Cheers, will try holiday truths, looking to work out there but only just started looking for a job but wanted to gather info on other things like getting about and living there. Some jobs will throw in accommodation but not all.

Can any recommend any other forums?

If you go to the Dubai forum on virtualtourist, there are quite a number of queries regarding employment which are answered by people living there who are, of course, the best people to ask. The other 2 sites are more of what is going on in and around UAE.
