Hi there,
I have noticed that Mesh computers are now offering 22" monitors with a lot of their desktops. Has anyone any experiiece of these monitors and if they are any good etc?.
Also if anyone has bought a computer from Mesh recently and overall experiecne? My old Mesh desktop is over 7 years old now and looking around for a new one. What would be your choice of vendor Mesh or Evesham and taking into consideration the on-site warranty from Mesh (not sure about Evesham) is only available on mainlaind. Im in N ireland.
many thanks

Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

If you're not put off by that report, you'll probably find that if Mesh don't specify which model of monitor they supply, then you'll get whichever model they have managed to get the best deal on - which may be good, or may not.
Without knowing the model it's difficult for posters to give their opinion.Charlie0 -
I've only had experience with Mesh once, but their desktop was very badly put together, even so much as when I opened it up there was bits of bubble wrap inside, cards not seated properly etc, and a generally bad attitude from the MESH staff.
That PC got sent back for a replacement and when the courier arrived he said was very surprised on the amount of replacement MESH PC's he has delivered over the last couple of years. Take from that what you will, but I'd never buy MESH again.
That said, the replacement PC did perform very well indeed, but the build quality still let it down, and it was also extremely noisy......0 -
Mesh are box shifters. My pc came from there and I spent ages on the phone trying to get a delivery fee refunded (courier misrouted a parcel). Customer services are the worst I have come across from any company (and you have to be cunning to avoid their 0870 money making machine). I eventually got my money after writing to a consumer column in a magazine.
Mesh offered me a money off voucher which I declined. I wouldn't touch Mesh again with a barge pole. You have been warned! :-)0 -
My parents are still without their Mesh pc after six months after it went in originally to have a graphics card replaced."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I have a Mesh desktop, i was so impressed with the system i bought 2 x laptops from them.
Their prices reflect the quality, yes the are slightly higher in price, but the build and parts they use are better than most components some companies use.
Now the bad part................
Their customer service is terrible. In the 5 years i have had my desktop, the only problem i had was my graphics card died; fortunately just inside the warranty date. Mesh were initially excellent and replaced the card within a week, but for some reason my pc was suffering serious slow down/crashes.
On inspecting the newly fitted card they had replaced a gaming 128mb nvidia card with a pathetic sub-standard card (my card cost £100+ the one replacing it i could get for £20 - £30!!)
It took:
5 letters to Mesh (speaking to them on the phone was tedious and repetitive)
the threat of taking my business elsewhere
starting legal proceedings
a letter from nvidia advising what graphic card is comparable to the one that had failed.
I did eventually get my new card. Bottom line, Mesh have some seriously good pc's, but if it goes wrong, prepare for a fight!0 -
Every time we got our pc back from Mesh it was in a worse state than when we sent it. Broken drives, crashing, even coffee spilled all down the front. At this point even if they vastly improved and fixed the pc and gave us a full refund, I would still never use them and advise nobody else to either. If it was just a one off it could be forgiven but at every single step, be it the numerous "repairs", the telephone conversations, onsite engineer not being given right parts. Not a single instance have I been pleased and could call satisfactory. Out of probably 20 telephone calls I'd say every single one was awful with either incompetant or lying staff."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I've had 2 from Mesh. First was fine, second had a mother board fault after a few days. Service was VERY difficult, you had to recite the whole saga every time you rang up - eventually got it fixed on site, but it was so much trouble !! Never again !
Now have an excellent Medion which I got from my local PC World - where at least you can go and thump on someone's desk if you do get a problem !0 -
Hi Martin,
I too am based over here in N. Ireland and I actually built my own PC about 18months ago, saving well over £100 in the process. I bought the parts from https://www.eclipsecomputers.co.uk. Their service was brilliant and not too expensive on the postage. Would you consider doing this?

Ok thanks for that everybody. Yep I probably would consider building and have added a few upgrades myself to existing computer...but on saying that even the look of a flat pack brings me out in a cold swear....honest...so I'll probably buy already assembled .....what about evesham ....is the customer service any better?
