Dolland & Aithcheson have just emailed me this free Sight test voucher and free 500 Nectar points. It seems to be just when you have the test and you don't need to buy glasses to get them.
Valid until 21/7/2007.

Just perfect timing for me!

I had one of these before, Booked my apointment, mentioned the offer when I did, then when I turned up they told me the offer didn't apply on a Saturday.
Argued that it said nothing about that in the T&C, and they'd said notihng when I booked the apointment, but still had to pay or they wouldn't give me the eye test.
Wrote to their head office after and eventually got a cheque refund back from them.
They always seem reluctant to give you your perscription I've found as well.
Funilly enough my local opticians is also doing a free sight test so i'm booked in with them, other wise I've give this voucher a go...0 -
That is strange. I received an email from Nectar yesterday about this offer, but only with 100 Nectar points!Reclaimed thanks to this site:
£175 Abbey Mortgage Repayment Fee, £170.03 Capital One Bank Charges £418.07 Lloyds TSB Bank Charges, £2,671.55 Mis-sold Endowment Policy, all for OH0 -
Well, I've booked an appointment for tomorrow (Saturday) and I mentioned the offer for the free eye test and she told me to make sure I brought it.
I'll let you know if there's any probs0 -
Eye test done and Nectar card details taken with no problems. I told them that I was buying a prescription dive mask elsewhere and needed my pupillary distance. The optician did this for me and handed the prescription complete with PD without question. She even asked if I had a coupon!0

I have some Optical Retailing experience and just thought I would mention that legally if you have a Sight Test the Optician has to give you a copy of your prescription. If you have a Sight Test, as the patient, you then own the presecription. They are being reluctant because they don't want you to take it elsewhere. Just for information D&A are the most expensive multiple opticians on the High Street - you will general pay at least twice as much for a pair of basic glasses. The best value is Specsavers by quite some distance. Tesco Opticians are very competitive too but without the choice. Hope this helps.0 -
I'm confused - there are loads of these postings for D&A free eye tests but with varying amounts of free nectar points - which one is correct?

This is definitely 500 points for just a sight test, no glasses purchase required!
Neil, strange you can't see the link, I'll see if I can PM it to you.0
