Tax Credits - Is it worth complaining?

Basically I have never received three renewals packs allegedly sent to me. I have renewed over the phone and this took four attempts for them to get it right.

I don't work and the only way the system would register it was to take a pound off my husbands earnings and put it as mine.

They have never contacted me, I have had to do all the phoning. If I hadn't bothered I could have lost out if the renewal deadline had passed.

If I need to complain how do I do it?

If you search this forum you will find the way you have been treated is not unusual. However I don't think it is acceptable either. If people don't complain, they won't improve.

You may also feel it appropriate to copy your complaint to you MP. Faxyourmp.com

this happened to me and now I have to repay my overdue payment of over 2k on a CCj sp much for the government trying to help us out of poverty. I will never claim this ever again for fear of getting into more debt

I didnt help myself though because I couldnt get a day off work to attend court so the judge ruled in my absence despite me writting a letter to state my case.

Briefly:
I WAS a single mum at the time of claiming 3 yrs ago
I stopped my claim because my partner moved in and they never sent me any forms to reclaim. I chased
They apparently sent the forms on 4 occasions I received nothing and then the sent me out the confirmation form which I never received, i called and stated i had earned 8k the year before as I had stated in my appliation.. They apparently never receveived that before the specified time so now I have to pay it all back....useless.....

They are the Inland revenue who know more about my pay then I do so surely they should be able to confirm how much I earn for themselves.

Its so infuriating!!!
