Some of you will have been reading my threads on my struggles to get PC linked to TV and and my DTV PCI card working.

Well all is now just about OK.

I have just had a decent Prifigold 2m Aerial Coaxial cable delivered to replace the piece of junk I bought last month. The distance covered is obviously less than 2m but I am gobsmacked at the difference. For the Digital PCI card to work you seem to need a signal strength greater than about 65%-66% on all my channels except BBC1 and BBC2 it fell below that after being ok'ish (signal strength coming ang going) but with this new cable CH5 is now 74% wheras before it was about 50%-55%. The cable was a:- Profigold PGV8902 2m TV Aerial Flylead with Supressors

I am not sure if I should do this here but the company seems to sell for good prices I was searching on EBay and eventually found this company which offer a virtually 24 hour service and prices that are very competitive.

I am not usually one to plug a company but felt they deserved this.

Now I just have a few wee software problem to sort out!!

Glad to hear about your success!

What chipset does your t.v card use? You may be lucky by having a chipset supported by ChrisTV.

I always see a mention on warp2search so it must be quite good.....Worth a look if your having software problems.

I have the Xpert DTV DVB-T PCI card and I think its on the connextant chip.

    Thye problems I have:-

    1. Channnels are all over the place ...no logic as per freeview box..but not a big deal.

    2. The software (Burn DVD 3.0) does not recognise my NEC 3520? DVD writer. Box remains blank when it should show it. So as of yet have failed to write a DVD from a recorded TV program.

But i am new to this DVD malarkey but learning slowly....lol

You bought a NEC :j good choice!!!!!!!! Guys over at DVD Decypter love the NEC drives....

Not sure why your DVD drive isnt showing on your software. I'm guessing its a IDE driver, firmware or Burn DVD problem.

Does your NEC show up in other programs? Do you use Nero?

    Found this for ya....

Q> [Burn DVD 3.0] The program doesn't accept my writer. I can't see any writable device in the program.

A> To get the support for new drives, get "new drive support databases" from Honest Technology Homepage.
    http://www.honestech-e.com/us/product_drive.asp

To install, please copy the "cdrw32.bdb" and "dvdrw.dsf" into the main folder of product. If you installed our software in a different directory then you need to copy the file into the appropriate directory.

For more information, please refer to Honest Technology homepage.

I had written to them and although they said because it was bundled software they didn't support it and to speak to my hardware supplier (who hasn't replied). They did offer those solutions which until today I hadn't tried bevause they were both installed in my main folder. I have just over written them but still the same problem!! Blank space where drive should be!!

    :(

Did you copy the Cdrw32.bdb to install directory when the program was fully closed?

It doesnt sound like you have done it wrong.....

I'm guessing here but the install dir should already have a Cdrw32.bdb in it. When you copy the updated Cdrw32.bdb you should get a prompt to overwrite the file. The size of the two files should be different.

Lookup binary newsgroups and get Burn DVD 3.2
