House purchased - Landlord left rubbish in loft

I have just purchased a house about 3 weeks ago.
Initially the vendor left 2 single beds in the shed without my knowledge with other rubbish such as leaves, etc. I informed the solicitor which he then had taken the beds but left the other things. I was not present when the rubbish was taken away to tell him I wanted all his rubbish removed.
The agreement was he was to remove all unnecessary items.
The vendor has also left rubbish in 2 of the dustbins which he had not used bags for so the bins aren't in the best of state due to this reason. Most recently I have found he has left a lot of rubbish in the loft such as an old rug, boards, etc.
Is there anything I can do? Can I take the rubbish to his home and dump it there and ask hm to take care of it? I guess this would be to extreme and is not the approach I would like to go but as its been 3 weeks and the vendor is not interested.

I understand your iritation, and yes he should have cleaned everything out, but in reality that does not always happen.
Save yourself the hassle and grief, take it down the tip and get on with your life. Its really not that big a deal, and not worth getting worked up over, and to be honest how was teh guy not going to leave rubish in the dustbin anyway, unless he managed to tie in his moving out date with teh dustbin collection date.0 -
I would not mind if the rubbish was placed in dustbin bags but the guy just put them straight into the bin which is a mess.
We don't have wheely bins in the area I live in so the rubbish would have to be taken out by hand and placed into bags for it to be taken away. I would prefer if the vendor would do that.0 -
My vendor left a whole houseful of stuff! (Although, to be fair, he was dead).
I rang a charity shop, who took the furniture away, and threw away everything else. It didn't take long at all.
By "leaves", do you mean leaves from the trees? You can hardly expect him to do all the gardening before handing over the keys for you.Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0 -
Agree with others, buy some heavy duty bin bags, masks and gloves. Get a power washer/hose and clean it up yourself & curse the seller! (it'll save you alot of hassel as there's no guarantee of the outcome if you were to go the legal route)

Don't see the point anymore in offering advice to people who only want to be agreed with...0 -
I bought a flat in about 2000. It had a Midland Bank uniform among the junk in the loft.0
