Freeview Hard Disk Recorder

We went to Tesco today and they are selling off the Sagem PVR6280 freeview hard disc recorder (80 gb) for £37.49. They didn't have any stock left in and was told that they weren't getting any more in, so we bought the display one - can take it back if there is a problem with it. The box was very broken up but all the bits were still there. Was quite surprised when we checked and found it has twin tuner too.

Might be worth checking your Tesco stores to see if there are any of these still available. We asked about buying the display model last Thursday and the manager wouldn't sell it to us but we went back today and they said yes.

You got a bargain by the looks of things it's still £119-95 in curry's, some people pay more for a set top box with no recorder.

Apparently Tesco are discontinuing it, that is why it is reduced. The ticket said reduced to clear and had £129.97 then £87.97 and now £37.49. Thought it might be a bargain if anyone else can pick one up. The Tesco store I got mine from was Irlam but they don't have anymore left.

Go here: http://www.tesco.com/storelocator/

type in postcode, get local extra stores, copy the 0845 number, go to https://www.saynoto0870.com, type in the 0845 number, get the alternative local number, ring the store and ask them to check for you.

Tried Chesterfield, Doncaster, Wathe, Clowne, Sheffield (various), Alfreton, Mansfield none available, Thanks anyway Alison_B great buy if anybody got one.

I'm not sure if non Extra stores will stock them so if the OP could indicate which store or store type it was bought from it would be apreciated.

Warning before you buy the Sagem you should know a few things about it's teething problems. Check out https://www.pvrworld.co.uk/forum
I have a Sagem PVR72800 it's not too bad apart from incorrect tv guides and the fact that it has a twin tuner but you cannot record 2 channels at once.
Just research before purchasing, it may be cheap, but you may hate it as well.
